Related to this issue: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/wootickets-attendee-list-order-status-blank/, the fact that the order status is blank in the attendee list renders the attendee list almost useless. Because “Tickets sold” is reporting from the Woo field ‘total_sales’ – which is not affected by cancelled orders – there is no way to tell how many actual attendees there are without clicking on each order to make sure it hasn’t been cancelled.

My hope is that in addition to fixing the order status bug very soon, tri.be is also working on making the aggregate data up top a little more useful by displaying the # of actual attendees there will be with all order statuses considered.

    Howdy spotstudio,

I appreciate the feedback. It is good to know how many users are affected, it helps us prioritize things. As noted in that other thread this has been logged in our tracker so that it can be fixed in a future release.

Due to the nature of large codebases like our plugin you have to have a release cycle. First you plan out what to include in a release, then you divvy it up between the devs, then you freeze the code and start quality assurance. We are well past the planning phase of the current release, and so this realistically will probably not be fixed in the very next maintenance release.

We are absolutely working on a number of attendee management improvements over the next few months. Thakns for posting! Please let me know if you have any questions. I have added your topic to our tracker, which means you should get notified once a fix is released.

Hi there – we have the same issue. We are currently selling online courses w/ tickets and this is a major problem for us and our backoffice. We have to manually count the sold tickets as the counter is not representing the actual number of tickets sold. We are currently processing about 50 customers a day and this takes up lots and lots of extra time…pls fix this asap. thanks! phil

    Thanks for your reply, Brook.

Just to clarify, there are two issues:

    1. is a bug (originally reported on 9/30) where the order status is not showing up in the existing order status column on the attendee list. This is a critical part of having an accurate attendee list (according to the way the WooTickets attendee list is set up).

    2. is a “would be nice to have” where the aggregate data up top displays the actual number of attendees.

Are you saying the first bug won’t even be fixed in this release? This is kind of a showstopper for a site I will be launching soon where having accurate attendee lists is critical to effectively managing their ongoing events. I really hope I don’t have to tell my client they’ll have to manually track everything externally in Excel.

Hey spotstudio! Thanks for the follow-up here. This is definitely a concern for us and something we’ve prioritized on our end. (Though Brook noted that we had already nailed down the scope of the forthcoming secondary maintenance release – PRO 3.8.2 – that’s a super minor build that will only include a fix for one minification-related problem). That’s basically a “hotfix” release to address a bug that can’t wait through the forthcoming release cycle.

But this is slated to be addressed as part of the 3.9 build we’re currently working on. While we generally do not commit to specific features/bug fixes in specific releases – anything can change during the development cycle, and as a result we generally take the mindset of only announcing those things when they’ve shipped – I’m happy making an exception here and being totally transparent that barring any huge disaster, this will be addressed in the forthcoming build. It’s worth noting that (as the original thread points out) this is a fairly new issue that emerged only in WooCommerce 2.2; so this is actually the first fresh release cycle in which we would have been able to patch the issue to begin with.

Hope that helps – if you have other thoughts/concerns/comments that you’d like to share, please don’t hesitate to let me know here or via email to rob (@) this domain. Otherwise we will let you know in the thread here once 3.9 ships and a fix is available to you.

    Howdy again spotstudio,

Rob clarified your first question. Regarding question #2. I am not sure what you mean by “actualy number of attendees”. What metric are you going by? At the top we show the amount of tickets sold. Is there something else you’d rather see up there? If so, please checkout our User Voice page. That is the perfect place to make feature suggestions, especially because often times the suggestion has already been made and collected a few votes. If so you can throw another vote its way.

Does that answer all of your questions? If so, I will archive this until the bug is patched. When it is patched we will respond back here letting you know. Thanks again for reporting it and the feedback. Certainly helpful while we work on the ticketing framework these next few releases.
