    Hi,

I’m still trying to work out whether to purchase Event tickets plus, as there are a couple of features that I’d need which are not supported (recurring events and WPML compatibility).

I have a question regarding a third compatibility area. I have a woocommerce-based online shop and I’ve just installed the woocommerce Facebook tab plugin to be able to sell my products directly via my Facebook page, in addition to my website. I take it that this plugin works by hooking up woocommerce products with the Facebook page.

In another thread about event tickets and WPML I found out that although the event tickets plugin automatically creates woocommerce products, these would not show up in the traditional woocommerce page. So does that then mean that tickets (which would not be normal “products”) would not show up in the “Facebook shop” via the Facebook tab plugin? I don’t understand coding or the technical specifics of how the Facebook tab plugin works and how its integrated with the woocommerce store. and whether or not that is compatible with how event tickets plus works. Could you shed some light on this compatibility question please?

Also, along the same vein, I also have a mail chimp account and I installed a mail chimp-woocommerce integration plugin. So the same question there – can the tickets (which i guess are “products” of some sort…) be sold/advertised through my mail chimp mailing list directly? or would they not “show up” because the tickets aren’t visible in the woocommerce shop page on my site?? (and can I follow the analytics of customer purchases via either google analytics or mail chimp with event tickets plus?)

And, as a final question to both of these. IF these plugins do work with event tickets plus – then what happens when I do use WPML? In another thread it was said that there’s a way to tweak with event tickets plus and WPML and it just creates two separate tickets/products for the two different languages (rather than having a single ticket..)… but does that mean I would then have duplicate tickets available on Facebook? (Again i don’t know yet how the plugin works, and how much I can choose to filter the category of products / tickets that would be sold, and whether i could just choose one language or the other…)

I hope you can make sense of my questions!

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

    Best regards
    Karoliina

    Hello Karoliina,

Thanks for reaching out with your questions. Wow! 🙂 Let me try to answer those for you.

I see you have already purchased Event Tickets Plus. Thank you and I hope it will work out for you.

… tickets (which would not be normal “products”) would not show up in the “Facebook shop” via the Facebook tab plugin?

The tickets which are created with Event Tickets Plus are regular WooCommerce simple products. The only difference is that they are hidden from the catalog. You can easily change this setting on the WooCommerce product page itself in the publish box. Here’s a screenshot of that.

So they should show up on your Facebook page. Unfortunately I cannot give you a 100% guarantee on this as I don’t know the Facebook Tab plugin and haven’t tested it myself, but in theory it should simply work.

can the tickets (which i guess are “products” of some sort…) be sold/advertised through my mail chimp mailing list directly?

Based on the same theory this should also work.

IF these plugins do work with event tickets plus – then what happens when I do use WPML? […] but does that mean I would then have duplicate tickets available on Facebook?

Unfortunately this is a question, which I cannot properly answer, partially because Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus doesn’t officially support WMPL yet. And I’m not quite sure how Facebook handles WooCommerce products that are in multiple languages. (Also for normal products, they are duplicated and connected.) My guess is that you need to enter a URL so Facebook can pull the products from there. If you enter the URL for the English webshop, then you will see the English products. But as said that is a guess.

I hope this helps at least a bit. If you have any follow-up questions, let me know.

    Cheers,
    Andras

    Hi!

At the moment Facebook for Woocommerce works fine, but I’ve had to disable WPML fully, because that was wreaking havoc with the checkout process. So I can’t tell you yet how that works.

Is there a way to automatically add the ticket header image to the woocommerce products that the ticket plugin creates? This would make the integration with Facebook more seamless. right now the tickets appear in my Facebook store with just titles, and no images.

ps. i managed to make the tickets visible also in the woocommerce shop and i’ve manually added product images to them.

i have a lot of weekend workshops, and for each of them i basically have four types of tickets, friday evening only, the whole weekend, and an early bird price for each of these. and the prices tend to be the same too.

if I don’t add product images manually, then on Facebook people just see a list of these ticket types but with no image, they don’t know which workshop its for. so before i added images (sorry, didnt take a screen shot so i cant show you now), there was a list that looked basically like this:
    – friday evening only – price X
    – whole weekend – price Y
    – friday evening only – early bird price – Price Z
    – whole weekend – early bird price – price T
    – friday evening only – price X
    – whole weekend – price Y
    – friday evening only – early bird price – Price Z
    – whole weekend – early bird price – price T
    – friday evening only – price X
    – whole weekend – price Y
    – friday evening only – early bird price – Price Z
    – whole weekend – early bird price – price T

This kind of defeats the purpose of having the Facebook for woocommerce add-on, if users don’t know what they’re buying, then i cant use it to market my events.

Some suggestions for you to work on:

    – enable the user of the plugin to select whether they want to hide or display the tickets in the woocommerce shop, instead of it being set to automatically hide. it would save a lot of manual work.

    – enable users to add product images for each ticket type as the tickets are being created. again it would save a lot of manual work.

    – enable the user to create default ticket types or a ticket library (like you can save the additional fields to use in another event). Again would save a lot of manual work with typing out several different ticket types for different events over and over.

    Hi Karoliina,

I’m happy to hear you’re making progress.

I hope you’ll manage to get WooCommerce and WPML working as well.

Is there a way to automatically add the ticket header image to the woocommerce products that the ticket plugin creates?

No, unfortunately there is no automatic way to do this, but could be done with some custom coding. Unfortunately we cannot do and support customizations like that, but I can share with you a <span class=”paragraph”>list of freelancers who should be able to help you out with this.</span>

As for your suggestions, thank you very much. I would like to encourage you to visit our User Voice Page where we collect these kind of suggestions and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there. Thanks!

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with regarding this topic.

    Cheers,
    Andras

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
