ParticipantHi,
I’m trying to have filter options on the sidebar widget calendar, to be specific I want to be able to chose between venues.
Here is a visual demonstration
http://cmdv.org/event.png
I’m saving the categories to use them through out the site to display different lists.I’m using “The Events Calendar Category Colours” to colour my calendar but this only works on the full view not widget. (I’m in talks with developer about that as its a great plugin).
I’m aware there is a new filter add-on in beta and I’m just wondering if it will take much coding to attach it to the widget area or maybe another option would be for me to just resize the calendar in css and fit it in the widget area??
Any pointers would be great I know its not an error but would be so good to be able to filter on the widget too.
Thanks
Vince

MemberHi Vince,
That’s a pretty cool idea, and I really like your mock-up. Our Filters Bar plugin will allow you to filter the calendar itself, but it will not effect the widget. Adding filters to the widget would take a great deal of customization, so it’s really outside our support capabilities. However, I’d be happy to give you a list of developers who might be able to help you out.

ModeratorVince,
Unfortunately styling based on the mockup is impractical. What happens when there are two or more events of different categories on the same day? I actually do have working code for styling the widgets but need to modify a couple of core file unless I can get Modern Tribe to add some action and/or filter hooks.

Participant@Leah thank you for the response, obviously I understand that this is a customisation and I think there was miss interpretation in the pre-sales forum as I thought with the new filters plug-in this option was available in the widget too 🙁
But yes a list of developers would be great and in all honesty I would probably donate the work to Tribe as I think it would be a great feature for people to have.@Andy yes thats a very good point obviously the design I have only shows one per day!! maybe its worth scrapping that idea and instead concentrating on just getting filters to work in widget, would still be very interested
