ParticipantHello,
I have a few pages on my website that I have used the Event Calendar Widget to display a list of events. It seems to break the CSS and Javascript when installed on those pages. If I remove it, they go back to their normal look. Please take a look at:

http://www.fvcc.edu/admissions/academic-calendar/Let me know if you have any solutions.
Thanks!

MemberGood evening Allison and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us and for providing your system information.
We are sorry to hear about the events Widget breaking CSS and Javascript on your site.
I would love to help you with this topic.First off, I can certainly see that these 2 specific pages don’t look particularly great and that the CSS seems to be out of whack.
That being said, I am unsure how you are able to establish that JavaScript is breaking on these pages (as there are no error messages in the Google Console). At this point we have a couple of things we can do:
- Could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ?
- Can you tell me if the results are the same if you use shortcodes instead of widgets ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
Finally, could you tell me if the problem persists if you temporarily switch your theme back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty fifteen ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for replying! Here is a link to a zipped theme file in dropbox. I did revert to the Twenty-Fourteen theme and the problem persisted. These results are from using the “Pro Widget Shortcodes.”
Specifically, I have used this shortcode on the Academic Calendar page [tribe_events_list category=”academic-calendar”]
and
[tribe_events_list category=”board-of-trustees”] on the Board of Trustees Calendar

MemberGood morning Allison,
Thank you for writing back and for running the tests.
It appears that you link to the theme is not visible in your previous reply. Would you mind trying again ?
That being said, provided that the issue persists with a default WordPress theme, it looks like the issue might be caused by a plugin conflict (since I am unable to reproduce the issue on a basic install).
As such, the next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
I realize this is time consuming, but it is truly the fastest way to get to the bottom of the issue and make sure you can enjoy a fully working site once again.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,
