ParticipantI saw another post about this in the forum but it was closed.
When I have Events Calendar Pro activated and I go to the Widgets admin page it never completely loads, took 1:20 to even show anything and then was frozen. Sometimes it doesn’t even show the widget areas on the right.
I have tested this with all the plugins turned off.
I’m using Genesis Magazine Pro, it’s not the theme either because globaltwincities.com also uses your plugin and the same theme and has no problems.
We have a huge number of tags, probably way more than we should but we have about 4500 posts so…
I mention this because it seems like I’ve read somewhere that there’s a script that trying to load all the taxonomies. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense, but my knowledge of code and scripts isn’t that good.
Oh and I get the same results when working in Chrome and Firefox.
I’m on WordPress 4.5.2 and the latest versions of Events Calendar

Can you confirm that you have tested to see if the issue still occurs when reverting back to the default WP theme and deactivating all other plugins other than ours? I understand globaltwincities.com is uses our plugin and the same theme you are, but every development environment is different, so the first step will need to be reviewing our Testing for conflicts guide. Let me know your findings and we’ll go from there.

Participantok I didn’t want to switch themes on the live site so I have a locally hosted dev site configured the same but without all the content. Way fewer tags and categories. It works fine with 2016.
on the live site the widgets page is now working although it’s really slow. I guess we’re just going to have to put up with it.
I think I should talk to the editors about decreasing the number of tags. We have over 21,000!

ParticipantI talked with the editor and all those tags were a result of bad practices in the past so I found a handy little plugin called wp delete tags and deleted them all. It’s working fine now.
