ParticipantNooooooo! I see by this discussion that only the most simplest type of filtering is available using shortcodes. What is the ETA of this feature getting added?? https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/trive-events-list-filter-shortcode-not-working/
What I thought was a capability of this plugin makes up about 95% of the reason I purchased it!
Another way that would help me ironically isn’t available either; It would even be possible to list a set of events by venue, except you don’t offer any additional filters in the venue shortcode where we can filter by EVENT at a certain VENUE.
Ultimately that’s what I need. I don’t care if its accomplished through categories only, categories + tags, or venue + categories. But I need to be able to filter my list so I can show all the dates a specific course is offered at a specific venue.

ParticipantHey @Kary,
I’m sorry to disappoint about the lack of these things you’re looking for. When it comes to filtering events by venue, this is indeed unfortunately not possible with our shortcodes at this time. 🙁 It’s only possible by writing custom code. We cannot help with custom code in terms of support, but we do have some comprehensive documentation about using the tribe_get_events() function, for example, which should be handy if you’re interested and willing to tinker with code → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-tribe_get_events/
To your first comments, about the advanced shortcode filters, there is not a specific ETA for more shortcode attributes at this time. I’m sorry if this is disappointing, but wanted to be honest about the situation.
The only shortcode filtering options that exist are the ones detailed here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
Sorry to disappoint, @Kary! Let me know if there is anything else I can try to help with here.
Sincerely,

ParticipantOkay…that’s too bad. I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask for a refund because this is a deal breaker. Your calendar is far superior to others in terms of its design and responsiveness. But ultimately function over design is going to have win here as I need the ability to input my courses ONCE and be able to filter the data and display the events/courses in multiple ways and in multiple places.

ParticipantHey @Kary,
I’m sorry to disappoint about our plugins; but you can indeed get a refund by following the steps here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/refund-policy/
Thank you for giving our plugins a shot!
Sincerely,
