MemberThat’s definitely a solid suggestion, John. We’ve had a number of users request this since the launch of 2.0. Let me run it by the devs…and thanks!

MemberI figured it (hide events for non-registered users) out all on my own already.. and it only took all day!
Now I can hide events based on user roles. 😀
Would one of the devs like to email me and look at my solution? It’s not the best way to do it i’m SURE, but it’s a start..

MemberHey maeda. Thanks for the offer; while we’re still a little while out from putting this together, I suspect we’ll take you up on that once this finally lands on our plate. Most appreciated!

MemberHey again Maeda. Any chance you’d be willing to share your solution with us? If you’d prefer to send it via email, that’d be fine too…just reach out to rob at tri.be. We’d like to review it and, if everything makes sense to us, turn it into a tutorial that we’d publish here on the site for other users to benefit from. (We’d of course give you credit therein). Let us know if you’re interested!

ParticipantI had purchased this plugin from Code Canyon and I vaguely remember something about how to add a custom template for grid view and list view. It may not need a whole article written about it but some direction on how to create it as well as how to remove some fields such as Updated and Category. Thanks!

MemberThanks for the suggestion, Matthew. The template override procedure is detailed (admittedly vaguely) in our FAQ (first section under “Customization”): https://theeventscalendar.com/support/faqs. Were you looking for something more detailed than that?

I hope my hot mess of a solution makes sense to you guys/gals.

MemberThank you Maeda! Emailed you back already, but just wanted to extend a public thanks for your help.

ParticipantI actually hired developers to do this for me and will share the code with you if you’d like. On my site, I need only one particular month for both the mini calendar and the events list. It would be great if that were a selection in the widget settings. I would love if you would incorporate that in your next release so that we wouldn’t have to fix it every time you do an update.

MemberHi Irene. Thanks for sharing that. We’d love to take a look at the code you’re using here; even if we don’t use it directly, it could point us in the right direction for incorporation down the road. I appreciate the offer 🙂 If you don’t want to post here, feel free to email (rob at tri.be). Cheers!

MemberHey folks. Just a heads up that, thanks to Maeda’s help, Jonah and I put together a blog post on how to hide your events from unregistered users. Check it out here: https://theeventscalendar.com/how-to-hide-events-from-unregistered-users/.
Thanks again, Maeda!

MemberA few suggestions:
— A calendar Week view
— more control over what is displayed in that sidebar in the list view. I would like to have the category as well as a custom field displayed here, and I’d like to just have the date and time range all on one line: ie April 19, 2 to 3pm.
— a way to display events that are going on at the same time, so if five events are occurring from 2-3pm, users can choose which to go to.

MemberThanks for the ideas, Lynne. Were these meant as feature requests, or as actual tutorials/hacks?

MemberI would love to see a tutorial on how to display events in a slider. Or better yet, how to add the event list directly into a theme in a horizontal fashion. Any help?
