Seems like a simple question, but perhaps it is not. Probably going to have to purchase the pro version of the calendar. It will be installed in a test “site” and a “production” site. What it really is, though, are two directories of the same URL:

for test: /public_html/govtest/Content/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar(govtest directory protected w/UID/PWD)

    for production /public_html/Content/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar(no directory UID/PWD)

Two installations in two directories on the same site/URL

SO the question: Is this two sites or one? I am **assuming** one site with two installations.

    Hello Victor

You do have a unique staging setup! Are the domain urls different?

In Using One License for Live and Dev Sites https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-one-license-live-dev-sites/, we do specify which domain structures that we currently support for staging sites.

If your site doesn’t match the criteria, you can still use the plugin.  You will need to manually run updates, the license may not register (or you could register it there while building and later Move Your License Key https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-your-license-keys/.  If you need to contact support during that time, please manually send in your System Info.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

Thankyou for your response, Courtney. Here is a bit more information.

To your domain question **currently** the staging / test site is just a password protected subdirectory of the URL. Access is http://www.empoweringgovernment.org/govtest/ The production site is http://www.empoweringgovernment.org. I am pondering changing the test/staging site to be a subdomain, as in test.empoweringgovernment.org.

That being said, and if I interpret things in your response correctly, I will go ahead and buy one license and install it in the two directories and point both installations to the one license key. If you don’t mind, keep this post open for a bit – perhaps another week – before closing it.

    Thanyou again, Courtney.

    Sure thing Victor.

And if it doesn’t like the sub-directory method, you can still completely install and use any of our plugins without an active license except for Event Aggregator, which relies upon our server to process imports. Just remember for support related to staging sites in sub-directories without a license to manually send in your System Info.

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
