What are my options for automatic event import?

My client has an event schedule that changes frequently. In lieu of using CSV import, which requires manual action to update the calendar, does EC PRO have any options for automatically importing events?

We have a web service that returns event data. Is there a way to hook into an API such that we can write a script to keep our Events Calendar up to date with the web service?

Please let me know what the possibilities are! We’re currently running the free version, but we would consider upgrading to PRO if it can do this.

We have a few options for you to choose from:

For the setup you suggested, it might be best to turn your existing data into iCal / .ics format and then setup that feed in our iCal Importer plugin’s settings.

I agree that the iCal importer sounds most promising. Do you know of any users who have written scripts to convert data from a web service into .ics format?

Just want to make sure it’s possible before diving in.

You’re welcome.

iCal format/syntax isn’t difficult (it’s just a specially-formatted text file).

You might find some help at http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/125338/calendar-ical-ics-format

You can also learn by opening some .ics files in a text editor and seeing what’s in there.
