ParticipantWe just renewed our license for Event Tickets Plus, which we use on our WordPress site. What is the next step to get it up on the site? When I look at the plug in page on our site, it lists version 4.4.1. I think the one I just renewed is a different version. Am I supposed to download the new one, and if so, how do I get it onto my WordPress site? Thank you

KeymasterHi Lara,
You can add your new key under Events > Settings > Licenses. Once you’ve done this, you will be able to update to the current version (4.6.2).
If you don’t see a prompt to update in the Plugins section (or are not able to update this way), you can do so manually by following these instructions.
Can you give this a try and let me know if you’re able to get it updated?
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantHi Jennifer,
I work with Lara at Everyone Reading Illinois. It appears the license key is
the same as our old one and I see a green valid message with an expiration
in 2019, so I didn’t end up doing anything. Lara hasn’t tested it yet to
see if it works. The only thing that concerns me is when I clicked “details”
for that plug in on our WordPress site I see this message:“Warning: This plugin has not been marked as compatible with your version of
WordPress.Version: 4.6.2
Last Updated: 3 months ago
Requires WordPress Version: 4.5 or higher
Compatible up to: 4.9.1”
We are running WordPress 4.4.14, and I haven’t updated the plug in because I
think I have to hire someone to help us update the WordPress site first (we
are a very small nonprofit). Hopefully the plug in will still work since we
have an event coming up soon that requires us to sell tickets.Thank you,
Beth

KeymasterHi Beth,
Thanks for clarifying that!
The current versions of our plugins will not work with version 4.4.14 of WordPress (the current version is 4.9.4). What I would recommend is upgrading WordPress and our plugins in a testing site before you do it on your live site. If you don’t have a testing environment already, you can install the free WP Staging plugin, which will let you create a quick copy of your live site that you can use for testing.
If for some reason you are not able to update WordPress on your live site (such as it not being compatible with other things that you have set up and cannot update), then you can also try installing previous versions of Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus. You can find these on the Downloads page of your site, and you can downgrade by following these instructions (it’s the same process for upgrading).
Please let me know how it goes and if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
