ParticipantHello,
I am trying to embed separate sports team calendars fed from Google calendars on the team pages of our website. As a category hierarchy in the main calendar, we have Athletic Events which compiles all teams’ events, and then I created hidden calendars for each separate team (ie- cross country, Girls Varsity Soccer, etc.). Each team category has a separate iCal url which I input as a scheduled import for each one.
I have 2 issues:
1) each calendar shows that it is importing on schedule through Imports, but when I open the calendar months views all say there are no events listed. They are not showing up on the calendars.
2) Once they are working I want to embed each team calendar month view on our team pages. Using the support knowledgebase, I believe I need to use [tribe_events view=”month” category=”cross-country”] code to embed the cross country calendar on the cross country page, for example.
On our team pages it asks for the iFrame code. Currently the google calendar code is input here so the google calendar is embedded. I want to switch it to my new team calendar. So what is the correct code? I tried the following but it didn’t work: <iframe src=”tribe_events view=”month” category=”cross-country”></iframe>. A strange view of the top banner of the website appeared in the block but not the calendar. Please advise. Thank you.

KeymasterHi Marek,
Thanks for reaching out! The issue with events missing from month view was actually one that popped up with WordPress version 4.8.2, but we did get this fixed in current versions of The Events Calendar. Can you try updating to 4.6 and see if that fixes the issue? If you don’t see a prompt to update in the Plugins section of your Dashboard, you can do so manually by following these instructions.
Regarding the shortcode, the one you have should be correct to display calendars by category on certain pages ( [tribe_events view=”month” category=”cross-country”] ). It sounds like you found our article on using shortcodes, but just in case, I’ll include the link here. Once you’ve updated and gotten month view working, please give this a try and let me know if it works for you!
Thanks,
Jennifer
