GuestI am interested in your event calendar, but before purchasing, I would like to confirm the following:
-For the views: I would like to have it default to a simple list format that includes: Location, Date (May 2-4, 2017), contact information and link to the host registration page.
-In the narrow your result bar, can you customize and reduce the number of filer options to only Year, Month, Country, State?
-In the list option, can you display all the events for multiple months at a time?
-For the Find Events bar option, can the date from be a year (our audience typically searching for what conferences are coming up in 2017, 2018, etc.?
-For the admin view, is there an easy way to just add in multiple events at once in a table view or do I have to purchase the event aggregator? Typically, once they are in the system, we do not need to update the calendar that frequently.May 18, 2017 at 7:57 pm #1285999Caroline
MemberHi Lisa,
Thanks so much for stopping by–happy to hear that you’re considering our products for your site! I’d be more than glad to answer your questions here! 🙂
- It sounds like our List View (which is available with both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO) might be a solid fit for your needs here! You can see what this view looks like in action on our WP Shindig demo site right here. http://wpshindig.com/events/list/
- Absolutely! Our demo site shows as many filters as possible for demonstration purposes, but if you’re using Filter Bar to filter events on your site, you can choose which filters are displayed to your users when configuring the plugin.
- When using List View to display your events, the number of events shown is limited by the number of posts that display per page in your WordPress settings. You can change this number in your settings at any time.
- We don’t offer a “Year” filter in Filter Bar by default, but if you’re comfortable with a bit of coding, you can add any number of custom filters to Filter Bar that you’d like. We have a great new Knowledgebase article showing how to do just that here! https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-custom-filters-for-filter-bar/
- We do offer the option of importing multiple events via CSV with our core calendar plugin, and you don’t need to purchase Event Aggregator to make use of this feature. This Knowledgebase article goes into a bit more detail about CSV imports and how they work with our plugins. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/importing-data-from-a-csv-file/
I hope that helps to get you started here! 🙂 Thanks again for your interest, and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you should have any other questions!

GuestHi Caroline,
Thank you so much for your reply and the information. The filter that I was checking to see if it could be changed to a year option was the one typically at the top of the (not the filter shown as an object on the left side of the page.
Can the Events From object be custom coded for a given year? Current: Events From: 5/03/17 –
custom code to: Events From: 2019.Thanks again for your help!

MemberHello, Lisa!
I’m jumping in to help Caroline out! The type of date filtering that you’re describing isn’t something that’s supported ‘out of the box’. the plugin is very extensible and that could be customized by a developer.
There is a hook called that could be utilized to make that adjustment. Additionally, the tribe bar uses the bootstrap datepicker which has some pretty impressive documentation that will be super helpful for customizing.

Does this help answer your question? Let me know!
Cheers,
