venue/organizer fields missing

    hey ya’ll–

    having an issue where registered users (subscribers) aren’t able to add either a venue or organizer to community events—when im logged in (as an administrator) i see all the options no problem.

    it looks like others had an issue with this in the past: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/community-events-add-venue-or-organizer-fields-no-longer-available/ which was fixed by a patch, but im all up to date with 4.2.1 so i’ve no idea what’s going on. screenshots show the different options available when logged in as an admin vs subscriber, please let me know how i can fix this.

    Hi Emily,

    Thanks for the report! I could confirm that this is actually a bug.

    It’s pretty similar to the one you mention, but with subscribers instead of annon users. I just logged it in our internal tracker, but I still don’t have any information on when the fix for this might be available or if there’s a temporary fix for it.

    I’ll set this ticket to ‘Pending Fix’ and will give you a heads-up when I have more info on it!

    Hey Emily,

    Unfortunately we couldn’t squeeze this ticket in the current maintenance release (4.2.2 coming out today) due to time constrains and to the fact that the release was already scoped when your report came in. The fix is now planned for next maintenance release 4.2.3 coming out in two weeks time. In the meantime I reviewed the ticket with one of our devs to see if this was a re-introduced bug (because we had a similar issue some time ago), but it seems to be a new one and some investigation will be required to track it down.

    Do you think you can wait till 4.2.3 is out?
