Venue Upcoming Events RSS feed

Due to certain requirements for a particular client, I’m looking into using RSS feeds to distribute a list of upcoming events from a main site across to feeder sites. However, whilst I know I can do RSS feeds for all events, I’ll need to filter the feeds based on Venues for purposes of displaying upcoming events on venue location pages that have been set up on these feeder sites.

As far as I can see after playing around with the URLs on the demo site, all I can get for venue RSS feeds is comments, not events. Is it possible to filter the RSS feed for events by Venue? Or will I need to write code to create the Venue-specific RSS feed? Just need to know so I can plan this project appropriately.

I’m glad to see you had read these prior to contacting us. I am sorry these were not more useful to you.

But before we continue, just to set expectations, as you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our wonderful customers started on the right track to customize their site and to help them in case of issues.

We unfortunately cannot provide complete support for customization 🙁

With that in mind, since the precise filters you are looking for are not built-in, this means you will need to either:

1. Do some customization to achieve what you are looking for (hence the link to the post)
2. Hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you
3. Suggest this feature over our User Voice forum.

As per your second question:

Absolutely, you can accomplish this by having multiple installs and using a Central source such as a Google Calendar.

In order to do that, you will however require a license for our iCal importer add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/ical-importer/

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.
