    Hi,

I ran into this problem when running Events Calender 3.12.6 with Community Events 3.12.1 – when a registered user goes to add an event they are presented with a blank screen – literally, just a URL below which is a sea of white at: http://www.grapevinelive.co.uk/events/myevents/add If they go to list their events at http://www.grapevinelive.co.uk/events/myevents/list everything is fine.

Time to upgrade to v4 then – that was fun when Calendar 4 with Community 3.12.1 crashed our site, but we survived – restored and updated to Community 4.0.4 first! So now I have the following:

    Events Calendar 4.0
    Events Calendar Pro 4.0.5
    Community Events 4.0.4
    Facebook Importer 4.0
    Filter Bar 4.0.2

But still when users attempt to add events they are presented with a blank screen – tried Chrome & Firefox on the PC and Android on a Tablet, all produce the same result.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I’m not sure if it is relevant but we do have a large number of events at any one time, over 3,000 but admins have no problems adding events through the back end.

    Hi,

Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help troubleshoot this with you.

It sounds like a fatal error is happening.

Please setup WordPress Debug to see what errors are showing when you try to recreate the issue a couple times in this file: /wp-content/debug.log

Also, can you please follow our testing for conflicts guide:

Testing Conflicts With Themes and Other Plugins

And see if that can narrow down the cause of this.

Let me know what you find out.

    Thanks

Thank you for your prompt response Brian. I am out of the office today but will run the debug & test for conflicts as soon as I can and let you know the results.

As you suggested it was a fatal error, exhausted memory as it happens.
Our website is heavily used at weekend by sponsors so I was loath to apply a basic template and remove plugins. As the sole developer I could at least re-trace my steps and remove the most recently applied plugins… turns out that “Profile Builder” by Cozmozlabs was the culprit. http://www.cozmoslabs.com/ (Or at least by deactivating it Community Events works!!)

I have uninstalled Profile Builder and will look at another possible solution.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, your support is much appreciated.

It appears that it is not just Profile Builder. Any plugin that allows you to add additional fields to registration has the same affect.

And it gets worse, having thought I’d resolved the issue I updated my theme and now the problem has reared its ugly head again. Fatal error I am getting is:

PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 89 bytes) in /home/grapevine/public_html/wp-includes/meta.php on line 835
    [31-Jan-2016 19:35:00 UTC]

    Any ideas?

Yep – increased it from 16M to 32M and then 128M (which seemed a little excessive) all to no avail. However, with php memory set at 32M I can now access the page if logged in as an administrator but not as a subscriber using the sites theme Sahifa… just switched to Twenty Fifteen and I can access the page as both admin & subscriber.

Finally bit the bullet and up-ed PHP memory to 512M and all seems to be working fine.

Ok glad you found a solution.

Since this is marked resolved I am going to close this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please post a new topic on the forum and we can help you out.

    Thanks
