URL Changes when breaking event from series

Hi there,

We run a number of events from our site https://cfimichigan.org/ and the ability to create a whole series of events is so useful. However, we often don’t customize the specific event description for that month until the link has already been shared around the internet or on other community event calendars. As soon as I ‘break’ the event from the series so that I can customize the description for this month, the link also breaks because it changes from https://cfimichigan.org/event/event-name/01-01-2018/ to https://cfimichigan.org/event/event-name-01-01-2018/.

Is there a way to have the links remain the same, or automatically create a redirect if the event is no longer in the series?

Unfortunately this is intended functionality, because when the event is no longer part of the series, it then receives its own URL, instead of being under the umbrella of the recurring event URL.  Does that make sense?

You may be able to change this functionality with the assistance of a third-party plugin, but I cannot make any guarantees.

If this functionality is a requirement for your intended project, I’d suggest that a third-party developer would be the best way to make this feature happen on a short timeline. ? We maintain a list of developers who work with our plugins on our Knowledgebase here:
