Upcoming Events Page Title on Past Events

Hi all,

It’s been a while since I’ve visited. I’m currently in a preliminary stage for a site-wide update so I’ve got a fresh copy of WP and ECP installed on my local machine. I’ve created a few event scenarios in order for me to test everything out for compatibility and I’ve uncovered a problem which has been reported by others in your forums (Please see: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/page-titles-on-calendar-views/).

When I view a Past Event, the page title shows “Upcoming Events | [Event Name] | [Website Name]”

Again, this is a fresh WP install (4.6.1) on the Twenty Sixteen theme with ECP at its latest and greatest (4.3.3). I’ve verified that this is the same thing on your demo site (see: http://wpshindig.com/event/openhack-monthly-meetup/2016-11-07/)

What can we do, as ECP users, to have this addressed? Logically, an event which has passed should not have a page title which says “Upcoming.” There’s already functionality to display a notice in the event details that the event has passed, so can we have this same applied to the Page title?

Hi @snorton,

Nice catch! That does indeed look like a bug.

I’ve created a ticket in our system to make sure we address this in an upcoming maintenance release. While I do not have a timeframe for when it will be knocked out, I have attached this thread to the ticket and we’ll be sure to follow-up with you when it’s ready. I’ve also marked this tread as Pending Fix.

In the meantime, you can use this snippet to change the page title:
