I’m building a new site for our golf club (still in Maintenance mode). I’ve bought TEC PRO to list all tee closures (events) for our members and guests. Besides a number of one-off events we run a yearly program of single and recurring tournaments.
Inputting the 2016 scheme has been a breeze in which each (recurring) events got his own unique permalink: [website]/[tee closure]/[event name] – I’m using ‘pretty names’, so my Permalink Setting is Post name.
However, for 2017 I need unique permalinks which will lead directly to the 2017 event. But not the ‘default’ permalink [website]/[tee closure]/[event name]-[sequence number]!
I also don’t fancy the option to manually adjust every permalink with the appropriate year, like in e.g. [website]/[tee closure]/[year]-[event name]. As you can imagine I prefer a solution in which the year will automatically be added to the permalink. But only for the TEC events, not for all the other content on the website…
I’m relative new to WordPress, but I’ve browsed a lot of WordPress generic and TEC specific Knowledge Base articles. Unfortunately I have not find the right solution yet. Any suggestions on how I can tackle this problem?
