ParticipantDear support,
I’m in development environment and unfortunately after updating to 4.3.0.1 the calendar view is no longer available. If you could point me in the direction for a resolution that would be great, would prefer not to have to start again! (Haven’t tried re-install yet.)
Here are the debug messages:1.
WARNING: wp-admin/includes/plugin.php:259 – opendir(/Users/…../wp-content/plugins/event-aggregator): failed to open dir: No such file or directory
require_once(‘wp-admin/admin.php’), do_action(‘admin_init’), call_user_func_array, Tribe__PUE__Checker->general_notifications, Tribe__PUE__Checker->get_plugin_name, Tribe__PUE__Checker->set_plugin_name, get_plugins, opendir2.

Many thanks,

Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the error messages you have been receiving and your calendar no longer showing up. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic. As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Secondly, would you mind temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme to see if the issue persists ?
Hang in there!
Best regards,

MemberGood evening Nick,
Thank you for writing back and for the system information.
I believe the issue is that you have not updated the Events Calendar Pro plugin (it is still at version 4.2.4).
Unfortunately, un-matching versions tend to create these types of issues.
My next recommended step would be to upgrade the Pro plugin.
If you have entered your Pro license key under Events -> Settings > Licence , you should be able to get the update from the WordPress plugins screen.
If not, you can always download a copy here and manually install it.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks again for your reply and support.
Thankfully an update of the pro plugin to version 4.3 enabled access to the calendar. Interestingly in my plugins dashboard, the pro plugin, although confirmed version as 4.2.4, was not registering that an update was required. While I can now access the calendar on the front end I still have an active debug message as below. Currently I don’t need the event aggregator (will have to investigate how this may help me) so don’t feel too concerned about this. Not sure whether that has any implications for you, or perhaps for me further down the line?WARNING: wp-admin/includes/plugin.php:259 – opendir(/Users/Nic/sites/…/wp-content/plugins/event-aggregator): failed to open dir: No such file or directory
require_once(‘wp-admin/admin.php’), do_action(‘admin_init’), call_user_func_array, Tribe__PUE__Checker->general_notifications, Tribe__PUE__Checker->get_plugin_name, Tribe__PUE__Checker->set_plugin_name, get_plugins, opendirBest wishes,

MemberGood evening Nick,
I am glad we are making progress on this.
To get rid of that final message, I would recommend upgrading to the Events Calendar 4.3.1.1 and the Events Calendar Pro 4.3.1
When that is done, temporarily deactivate both the free and Pro plugins.
Reactivate the free one first and then the Pro one.The message should disappear.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Many apologies for the delay in getting back to you, my attension being pulled in other directions!
I have tried as you suggested, unfortunately I still get the active debug message:
WARNING: wp-admin/includes/plugin.php:259 – opendir(/Users/Nic/sites/menuonthegreen/motg/wp-content/plugins/event-aggregator): failed to open dir: No such file or directory
require_once(‘wp-admin/admin.php’), do_action(‘admin_init’), call_user_func_array, Tribe__PUE__Checker->general_notifications, Tribe__PUE__Checker->get_plugin_name, Tribe__PUE__Checker->set_plugin_name, get_plugins, opendirTo be sure, I manually re-installed both the plugins (both v.4.3.2), and activated the free and then the pro. Not sure if this is of use to you but as soon as I re-activated the free plugin the debug message was activated. Also just to let you know that I have the plugins installed in a multisite environment, perhaps this may play a role in the error? Just to let you know, I’m only using the calendar on one of the “sites” as this is applicable site-wide. (At a later stage I may need to look at a multisite licence, but that would only be further down the line!)
Many thanks again for your kind assistance!

MemberGood evening Nick,
I am following up on this topic.
I bumped into my colleague George’s thread for that exact PHP warning message: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/missing-plugin-directory-for-event-aggregator/#post-1181835
So the good news is that warning message should not prevent proper functioning of the website and that a fix is on the way.
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned, you will be contacted when the fix is released.
Have a good week-end,
Geoff B.
