ParticipantHello,
I am unable to upload my .ics file using iCal importer.
Link to my calendar: http://www.njpsa.org/feacalendar/
Link to my .ics file: http://www.njpsa.org/documents/events.icsI tried to do a “Search” on that file in both recurring and one-time mode, and I kept getting the “Unable to retrieve content from the provided URL.” error.
I input my .ics into an online validator, and it came back valid.
Finally, I ran a database optimization with the RVG plugin, and that also did not work.
Not sure even now whether my problem is with event “notes” hanging around, or whether something is wrong with my file.
Can you help me figure out further ways I can troubleshoot this? I’ve attached my sysinfo.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Aaron,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I tested the http://www.njpsa.org/documents/events.ics link for a one-time import, removing any start date or other limitation on the import screen and got 109 events available for import (https://cloudup.com/cPUoxSOIW9N). Is this the point where it’s showing you that it is unable to retrieve content from the URL?
If so, I would first try updating to the latest versions of the core plugin as well as the iCal importer ( version 4.0). If that still doesn’t work, try following the Testing for Conflicts procedures to see if there is an issue occurring with a plugin or theme conflict.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Josh,
Yes, that is the point at which it is unable to retrieve content from the URL. I activated the default theme and disabled all other plugins, and iCal importer was still unable to retrieve any content.

ParticipantHey Aaron,
That’s strange. Would you mind turning on WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG on your site to see if we’re able to see any other internal issue other than the basic “Unable to retrieve content from the provided URL.” error.
Try the import again with those turned on and see if any additional information is provided in the log to explain what may be going on.
Let me know if that reveals any additional information.
Thanks!
