GuestProblem: we have two groups of people / workers. First one, recieves information about all the public events, like National day, holidays etc. Second group recieves internal events. So we would like to have two widgets for example, on the same domain, one with public events, the other, on let’s say a secured website with protected events. I guess categorising events is there for sure, but are we able to secure, so people having calendar widget on the main website do not have any ways to see protected ones and at the same time, people on protected website’s calendar see both public and protected events.
Also: is there any way to restrict group of users, so they have access only to publish events only in one category?September 8, 2015 at 6:59 am #1002857Kathy Rustell
GuestI need a plugin that users can create events within their group. There will be lots of groups on our website and each group needs the facility to add an event where people can register/join. Can the Events pro do this where a user can select which group they want the event to display in?
Also if 4 groups had events on the same day how does the calendar display this?
Thanks
Kathy

MemberHi,
Thanks for the interest in our plugins.
Pro or Core the Events Calendar does not have a feature as you describe. You can use the private setting in WordPress with events and then only private events are visible to logged in users and not the general site visitor. So that is one way to hide events.
You could test this on the core version of the Events Calendar found for free on WordPress.org: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/
Also: is there any way to restrict group of users, so they have access only to publish events only in one category?
This is possible, but would have to be customized by you and we would be unable to support it.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks
Hi Kathy, I see you also posted in your own thread. We will answer your question there as this is a duplicate. Cheers

GuestThanks for your response, here is another question:
Would there be a problem if I buy a pro version, test all the features on my test domain, and then transfer the pro version to the target domain that I want to use pro calendar on? So buying 1 domain license, and then changing the domain that we use it on?September 11, 2015 at 5:32 am #1004156Brian
MemberHi Again,
That is not a problem to test all the features on one domain and then move it to another.
We have this guide to doing just that:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-one-license-for-your-live-and-dev-sites/
Also, the license key is not needed for the plugin to work, only for automatic updates so you do not need to even add it on the test site.
And finally you can always download the latest version from your account here on theeventscalendar.com and follow these steps for manual updates:
Cheers
