I have tried to follow the directions previously posted about the topic of linking events into the blog feed. I am not figuring this out. I have checked the box to allow the events to go into the blog feed. The theme has a space for “upcoming events” but I can’t find where to tell it to connect to the events feed.

    Can you help?

Good afternoon Donna and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the struggles you have met while trying to integrate the upcoming events on your front page. I would love to help you with this topic.

There are a couple of ways to integrate the upcoming events to your front-page.
But, I am afraid that checking the box to allow the events to go into the blog feed will not work for that purpose.

That checkbox will add events to the actual blog page (https://bix-bee.org/blog/), not the home page.

Here are a couple of ways to go about this:

    1. Using advanced widgets or advanced widget shortcodes: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
    2. Using full calendar embed shortcodes: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/

In both cases, you will need a copy of the Events Calendar Pro:

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Thanks Geoff. I have the pro version but am not sure where to put the code. In the customization of the theme it allows me to just check a box to add the content.

Are you saying that if I just add the shortcode somewhere in the <div> of the class then it will show up?

Sorry Geoff it looks like I bought the pro of the tickets not the calendar. I have been trying to figure out whether the pro version or the community version was best for us.

    Hey Donna,

    Thank you for writing back.

You are right, you currently have Event Tickets Plus, but you would need the Events Calendar Pro: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/ to accomplish what you are looking for.

When you do get it, you simply need to paste the shortcode in a text area or use a widget area (depending on your preference).

I have been trying to figure out whether the pro version or the community version was best for us.

That is a great question. Both offer very different features. Community Events’ focus is to allow your website’s users to post events, whereas the Events Calendar Pro offers shortcodes, new views, recurring events, etc…

The good news is that they both work great together 🙂

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Thank you Geoff for the help. I should probably wait to see if there is a black Friday sale but I have time today to play with the pro version and get it working to see if it will do what I want.

Thanks for all the help. I will start a new thread if I require more assistance.

    Good evening Donna,

    Thank you for writing back.

If you want to know about a black Friday sale, then you should totally read: https://theeventscalendar.com/sale-black-friday-2016/

Keep in mind that you are fully entitled to a refund if you want one as long as you are within 30 days of your purchase. To obtain the refund, you just need to follow the procedure described here.

In other words, you can try our plugins risk-free for 30 days.

You are welcome back in our support forums any time 🙂

For now, I am going to close this thread.

    Have a great week!

    Geoff B.
