Gernot
ParticipantHi,
I’m using Events Calendar Pro but the date in the single event view is shown in english and not in german.
The date in the overlay of the event image is correct in german. But the date in the event sidebar for the recurring event dates is in english.

Can you tell me how I can translate it?

MemberHi, Gernot.
I see “July” instead of “Juli” but the rest of it looks correct. Is this what you’re seeing too?
And this Other Dates is likely from Avada theme, since it’s not displayed by default with a theme like Twenty Seventeen.
Therefore, please inquire to them about this text and let me know what you find out.

ParticipantYes. Thats the problem. How can I change it to “Juli”?
The dates of Avada gets displayed correct, but the dates of the recurring events not. So it have to be a problem with The Events Calendar PRO because without this plugin these dates are not available, right?

MemberIf you switch to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Seventeen, does the widget display properly (note that you might need to re-add the widget)?

ParticipantI tried to switch to twenty seventeen but the dates of the recurring events are still in english. So that’s not the solution.

MemberGood evening Gernot,
At my colleague Cliff’s request, I will be stepping in because of my experience with sites in different languages.
As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Secondly, just to be extra sure, when you say that the recurring events date are not translated, are you referring to
Weitere Termine:
2. February 2018 ab 8:30am
14. September 2018 ab 8:30amAccording to my limited German, that should read Februar.
If that is not what you are referring to, could you please provide a screenshot to make sure we are on the same page.
Hang in there!
Geoff B.

MemberHi Gernot!
Thanks for persevering while we looked into this.
This isn’t related to your theme as such – that just makes the problem more obvious – it actually looks like a bug in Events Calendar PRO itself.
There are a couple of problems here in relation to the recurrence description: one is that the time format is ‘fixed’ and so at present won’t reflect the format you have configured WordPress to use, the other is that we don’t pass the dates through the expected translation functions.
Of course, this needs to be fixed so I’ll get this bug logged and we’ll attach this topic to the bug report so that you receive an update as soon as the fix is ready.
Sorry for the delay – and thank you for your continued support and patience 🙂
