ParticipantHi there,
I’m trying to get a big list of all of my events, ideally into a spreadsheet. What I’m really after is the cost field. I have >7000 events and I want to use the info to estimate the market size. When I go to Tools > Export and download the Events the xml file is empty. This lady seemed to be having the same issue but didn’t follow up on her thread:
Can you tell me one of two things?:
1. Is there an easy way I can get all the cost values from all my events somehow? Just so I can total them up to get the estimated market size.
2. What is wrong with the xml export?
The answer to question one would be more helpful.
Cheers,

ParticipantHey Mat,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I tested on my local install but was unable to replicate the issue here. I see that George similarly was unable to replicate the issue as well on the previous thread. It looks like you are using the latest versions here, so the issue could be a resource problem with the server trying to process and export a single file for the 7000 events.
As an alternative, do you have access to a too such as phpMyAdmin for your site? This will allow you to do some quick searches and exports of data directly from the database. If you’re not sure, try reaching out to your hosting provider to see what options they have for you there. We can then help get you pointed in the right direction for how to get the information you’re looking for from there.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Josh,
Thanks for getting back to me. I agree, it’s probably that there are too many events to export all at once.
I do have access to phpmyadmin but I don’t really know how to use it. Could you tell me:
1. What am I searching for?
2. How do I find it?
3. How do I download it in a readable format?THanks!

ParticipantHey Mat,
Thanks for following up here!
Looking at your system information here it looks like you’ve got just the Core plugin as well as the Pro version of the plugin activated on this site. Therefore, is it safe to assume that the costs you’re looking for are directly associated with the event and not to tickets for the events?
If so, here’s how you can get the information you’re looking for:
- Log in to your phpMyAdmin account for the site
- Go to the associated database for the site and click on the “_postmeta” table (will have a prefix associated with it that you assigned when creating the site, usually “wp_” so “wp_postmeta”
- When you’re in that table, click the “Search” option at the top of the page (https://cloudup.com/c7weNFef-ei)
- When searching, use the “meta_key” field and search for “_EventCost” (https://cloudup.com/cA3_M_9BpiY)
- When the results are shown, navigate to the bottom of that list and click on the export options under the “Query results operations” section (https://cloudup.com/ciFJjs6LTG7)
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
