Reopening this issue, https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/tool-tips-not-loading/
I finally heard from the EWWW developer. Following is what he says. Hope you can solve this in a future update.nosilver4u wrote:
Nevermind, I saw the problem, and was going back through old threads to find the fix when I ran across this: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/alternative-webp-rewriting-not-working-with-cloudflare?replies=10
Basically, the html specification states that the very first time the parser (usually a browser) sees a closing tag starting like ‘</’, it is supposed to recognize that as the end of the inline <script> element.
The unfortunate fact is that no browsers actually follow that rule, which causes developers to think they are following the spec (when they aren’t). On the flip side, the PHP parser DOES follow that rule, and will insert a closing </script> tag when it isn’t needed.
It isn’t something I can fix, but the Events Calendar devs should be able to fix it simply. They just need to escape the slashes in their ending tags when they are inside a <script> element.
So instead of using they would need to make that <\/a> and so on for each html element within the script elements.Read this post on the forums: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/latest-release-breaks-the-events-calendar-by-tribe?replies=5#post-8692131

MemberGood morning Karen and welcome back!
Thank you for writing back with the results of your findings.
I would love to help you with this topic.I will certainly relay your findings to Dev as a first step.
That being said, as I was looking at your previous thread, something caught my eye (which might be related or not).
I did notice that you are still using Event Rocket. Although this was an awesome plugin, it has not been updated in a long time and it’s known to cause several issues with the Events Calendar plugins 4+.
I would certainly recommend deactivating the plugin to see if that helps.
I will get back to you with my findings once I hear back from Dev.
Have a good week-end,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHey Karen,
As Geoff said, thank you for writing back with these results. This is an interesting claim and our developers will investigate if our plugin is indeed doing the sort of thing the EWWW developer describes.
In the meantime, once you remove the Event Rocket plugin from your site, can you take a screenshot of a failing tooltip and then share that screenshot with us? You can do so by uploading the screenshots to this thread. If you have issues with that, you can upload to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.
I’m just curious to see what you see that I can work on recreating the problem. With that image, and the information you have shared in both this thread and your previous thread, we can make a comprehensive bug report.
Thank you!

ParticipantGeorge,
I believe that I have found the issue. Under Conversion Settings, I have the Alternative WebP Rewriting box checked because I use a CDN. I unchecked it and the tooltips work again. I had not noticed in the initial instructions from the EWWW dev that the URL indicated this.
Still, it sounds like something you might want to continue to pursue as there will, most likely, be other cases like this. Not a priority with me, however, I am finding a workaround.
Thanks for your help on this.

ParticipantHey Karen,
Thank you for sharing your workaround! I am sorry that I couldn’t come up with a solution here, but even with that plugin installed on my site and about twenty minutes of trying to recreate the issue a number of ways, I could not reproduce the problem. 🙁
We’ll definitely keep this on our radar and ensure our script-escaping is up to snuff.
In the meantime, best of luck with your site! 😀 Open a new thread here any time if other issues or questions ever arise.
Sincerely,

MemberHi Karen!
I just wanted to share with you that a new release of out plugins is out, where we included a fix for the issue described here.
You can find out more about this release → https://theeventscalendar.com/maintenance-release-for-the-week-29-july-2018/
We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience while we worked on this.
As always, we suggest to setup a dev/staging site so you can make all plugin updates without disrupting the live site.
Please update the plugins and don’t hesitate to open a new topic if anything comes up
Best,
Victor -
