ParticipantI have tried checking with Twenty Sixteen theme but it doesn’t display footer widgets.
I have checked WordPress settings – everything is correct with the time settings (JF1)
I have checked Events CalendarPro – settings are correct e.g. 10am for Morning Services (JF2)
Display (JF3) in the footer of our Home Page is displaying all times one hour later than set.July 5, 2017 at 7:15 am #1316269Barry
MemberHi Peter,
Sorry to hear you’re hitting up against difficulties.
I do notice that you are also using Series Engine. Historically, we’ve seen strange issues with that plugin whereby the times of recurring events are adjusted after initial creation … on taking a peek at your site I see that all of the events currently listed in the footer are indeed recurring in nature.
A good starting point then is to validate if this is indeed the source of the problem (it may not be). On your live site, or on a clean test site where you can also replicate the problem, can you deactivate Series Engine then create a new recurring event and see if the problem is resolved in the case of that newly generated event?
Thanks!

ParticipantTHANKS for the quick response. I will do what you have suggested but I wonder if there is something strange happening in EventsCalendarPro itself. When I go into edit an event, everything grinds to a halt. The little coloured ball sits there spinning for ages. I don’t have this issue accessing other parts of the site. I hope this can be fixed as this is a great plugin.

MemberThat doesn’t sound good. Is this true of all events, or just recurring events? If you create a new recurring event does that same thing happen then, too?

ParticipantHmmm, seems to be a corruption of exisiting recurring events. When I created a new recurring event it went thru as it should & there were no delays in the setting up window. I redid an existing event with Sermon series plugin deactivated & whenI reactivated Sermon Series it had remained as set… it hadn’t changed. Looks like I am going to need ton bin & red all existing recurring events.

OK: so just to clarify – we’re talking about the 1hr displacement problem here and you found that deactivating Series Engine and creating a new recurring event didn’t solve this?
Hmmm, seems to be a corruption of exisiting recurring events.
We did have such a problem and we did work that we felt would solve the most critical cases and at least unblock the event editor for those in this situation, but perhaps we didn’t quite manage it.
Do you happen to know or recall if the events in question contained exclusions? Depending on how many base events you need to recreate, recreation may indeed be the fastest path forward.

ParticipantNo, deactivating Sermon Series made no difference. There were very few exclusions.

MemberOK. Let’s try to isolate some of these problems. If you follow our standard troubleshooting steps (link below) and take your site down to a minimal environment running just a default theme such as Twenty Seventeen, plus The Events Calendar, Events Calendar PRO and nothing else where does that leave us in terms of outstanding problems?
theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts
As before, can you create a fresh recurring event and see if it is impacted in the same way as any existing recurring events?
If doing this on your live site is impractical, we could also troubleshoot “in reverse”: if you are able to, create a new WordPress installation in a sub-directory (ie, example.com/testsite and add only The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO there – can you replicate the same issue in this clean environment?
Once we can find the trigger for what you are experiencing we can hopefully start working toward a solution.

ParticipantThanks Barry, I really appreciate the support you are giving. It’s wonderful. I am going to be away for 4 days so won’t be able to re-visit this until then. In the meantime, thanks again for the follow up & support.

ParticipantHi again, back on deck.
I am going to redo our Church website using a Massive Dynamic theme which is very popular & up-to-date!! I am looking at working on this development site rather than trying to fix all the issues on our current site with the out-of-date theme.
Can I use the current license I have for EventCalendraPro on a dev. site without creating issues? Once the dev. site is ready, I will swap out the existing site & go live with this one/
Thanks for the great support.

ParticipantIs it possible to do something like this (see attachment) in Events calendar Pro? This is set on part of the front page, so not in a sidebar. the green text is html so opens to a single event page as does the arrow in the bottom event.

MemberHi Peter,

Absolutely! You can simply ignore and dismiss any notices about requiring a license key. Except for access to automated updates, functionality will not be affected.

Unfortunately your attachment didn’t come through. Could you try again or link to the image via a Dropbox link or similar? (Please note though we do try to stick to one issue per topic, so ideally for anything besides troubleshooting the initially reported problem we’d break things out into new topics.)
Thanks!

ParticipantThanks again. The url is: http://calvarychurch.cc & half way down the front page is a heading “Featured Events ” & three events are listed with interactive features. I would like to do something similar in a page, not in a sidebar. Does EventsCalendarPro allow that?
PS> Have attached the file again.

MemberI see the attachment this time!
That particular list seems like a custom implementation. Events Calendar PRO does ship with an events list widget and you can indeed set this to only list featured events.
Like many of our widgets, you can deploy this outside of a sidebar by using a shortcode. In this case, that might look something like this:
[tribe_events_list featured_events_only=”1″]
As with all views, the output of this widget is customizable and our Themer’s Guide is a great starting point for learning the ropes in terms of making those changes.
Thanks!
