ParticipantHi there
Need some help. I’d like to use a ticket Taylor generated shortcode within an additional field of the events calendar and it displays the code but doesn’t execute it.
Many thanks.

KeymasterHi Thomas,
Thanks for reaching out!
I’ll be happy to help you out with this, but can you please clarify what you are trying to do and provide a screenshot, link, or example if possible? I just did a quick test and you should be able to add shortcodes to additional fields and have them render on your event page.
If you can provide some additional details, I’ll be happy to see what I can recommend!
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantHi Jennifer
Thanks for you response. I’m trying to add a shortcode for ticket purchases on the single event page. Each event has its own Ticket Taylor id within the shortcode which is generated on Ticket tailors website. My website has a Ticket tailor plugin which should make the code work. I’m using the additional field for a long description for the event and would also like it to be understanding html formatting with basic <br> andinputs.
I’m attaching a screenshot of the field (backend) and the output (frontend)
The url is: http://simpleandfunctional.com/stillpoint-lab-london/event/beauty-or-beast/Many thanks

KeymasterHi Thomas,
Thanks for sharing the screenshots and link! I took a look at the page, and it looks like the link is displaying correctly now. Were you able to get this figured out?
Unfortunately additional fields do not currently support adding HTML into the field, and any tags that you do add in there will be stripped out.
If this still isn’t working, can you try adding the shortcode outside of an additional field, such as in the event description, and see if it executes there?
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantHi Jennifer
I had to temporarily take that link out as it is a live development site I’m working on. Id like an additional field execute this shortcode: [tt-event url=’https://www.tickettailor.com/new-order/105462/1b4b/ref/website_widget/’ minimal=’true’ bg_fill=’false’ show_logo=’false’ ]
It doesn’t accept shortcodes at all. I’d like to know how to enable the use of shortcodes within an additional field.
Having it in the main description is not useful for me as the position of this field needs to be below all the other information like Venue etc.
Many thanks
Thomas

KeymasterHi Thomas,
Thanks for following up. The additional fields should support shortcodes by default (for example, you can try adding one of the widget shortcodes that comes with Pro as a test). I did a quick test on my end and was able to get the shortcode output on the single event page by adding the shortcode to an additional field.
Can you try adding your ticket shortcode somewhere on your site outside of the additional field, just as a test to see if it renders in a normal page section? If so, can you try adding one of our widget shortcodes (such as [tribe_mini_calendar] ) to your additional field as a test to see if that works?
If neither of the shortcodes are working in the additional fields, the next step would be testing for conflicts with your theme and other plugins. If you prefer not to do this on your live site, the WP Staging plugin will let you create a quick copy of your site that you can use for testing.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks,
Jennifer
