Just a quick follow-up to let you know I have not forgotten about your request for links to the API’s documentation.
Full disclosure, the API on Evenrbrite’s side tends to change a lot. But still, I have asked our main contact with the good folks at EB to track what they have.

We have still not been able to trace the appropriate documentation for this topic.

However, we found another example of their API not allowing embedding on external websites when the event is set to private.
In this case, when trying to use embeddable widgets: https://www.eventbrite.com/support/articles/en_US/How_To/how-to-sell-eventbrite-tickets-registrations-on-your-website-using-embeddable-widgets (Also, widgets cannot be used if your event is invitation-only.)
