ParticipantHello there,
I’m hoping you’d be able to help me with the following challenge we have on this website: http://www.nsanyc.org. We sell tickets for events (non-profit) and have two different ticket prices. One for NON-members and one for Members of our Association. Right now we handle this with a Woocommerce plugin “Dynamic Pricing” based on the “Group” (another Woocomerce Plugin) the user is added.
So let’s just say: The Non-member ticket price is 50$, if someone logs in and is identified as a member of our “Group” the price gets automatically discounted to 30$.
We have to get rid of the dynamic pricing plugin (for other reasons, mainly reporting). So, I was hoping we could realize the following:
Each event gets two tickets (one for 50$ and one for 30$) – group members are only allowed to purchase the 30& one, non-group members are only allowed the 50$ one (and vice versa).
I hope this makes sense. Describing it is hard. However, I couldn’t find any way to set this up and I’m hoping you’d be willing to help me.
Thank you so much in advance.

ParticipantHey Sylvie,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Using multiple tickets might get a little tricky here particularly when it comes to managing stock for the tickets. One workaround that I can think of would be to have coupons that allow for a price reduction for members. You could then use a members only style shortcode to hide the coupon code from regular visitors and only show for members.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantJosh,
Thank you so much for helping me on this. Not sure what you mean (and that doesn’t mean it’s not an excellent, with my basic knowledge I just don’t understand). That being said, are there any experts in this forum (or any other place you’d recommend) to hire a Woocommerce expert to help us with this?
Thanks a lot.

ParticipantHey Sylvie,
No problem, we do have a list of customizers that would be happy to help you in setting up what you’re looking for.
One additional note as well to clarify on my initial response. I mentioned that multiple tickets might not be a good approach due to stock issues. However, we should be releasing “Global Stock” for events within our next update. This feature, for example, would allow you to sell a total of 100 tickets for an event via multiple tickets. Previously, the stock was set per ticket, so if you had 100 seats available for an event and wanted to use multiple tickets, you would have to split the 100 between the two tickets and would hit difficulty if one type of ticket sold out but there were still seats available.
Thanks!
