ParticipantI created the event “Live Music at the Toucan” with the following parameters: would show up every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in August 2016.
This was a couple days ago – I went to my site right now to see some days have 343 or 344 events planned. I can’t even move into September 2016 for example because there’s thousands of events listed and it’s causing the site to die.
Looking at the backend it’s busy creating literally thousands of “Live Music at the Toucan” events. When I was on there it was 6031, and moved up to 6070 within minutes.
I’ve managed to get it to stop generating events by at first editing the date to only occur once, and then deleting the event however now there are thousands of events generated. Any attempts to bulk remove them cause it to time out. I have to go through individually and delete each event and I can’t do that for 6,000+ times.
Need help on removing these 6,000+ events.

MemberHi. Sorry you’re experiencing this.
Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
It’s hard to tell if this is your issue or not, but, once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please do strongly consider trying out this temporary plugin fix for runaway recurring events (a bug introduced in version 4.2.2 and fixed within a few days via version 4.2.2.1).
Please let me know how it goes for you (which one did you use?) or if you didn’t use either.

ParticipantOkay well I was going to try the alternate version from the link you posted however that only links to an image not the actual plugin?

ParticipantWell it seemed to automatically be deleting 10 events every 30 minutes – with 6,000 events that wouldn’t work so I ended up having to get my coders in to hack away via phpmyadmin so I guess this is resolved now.

MemberWhoops. Sorry about that error. I’ve updated the blog post to correctly link to download the “on-demand” versionĀ from https://cl.ly/400O3R3q3M1I
Please try that one if you want to still try it.
Thank you for helping us fix the blog post, and sorry again about the issue you experienced.
