ParticipantI have my calendar on my events page, but I have text above and below, that include general info and then links to other community calendars. I’ve updates those bits of text but they don’t update on the page. I can’t even delete them from the page. The calendar updates, but the rest of the page doesn’t. Thoughts??? Thanks!!!

ParticipantHey Christopher,
Where is that text above and below being input?
April 30, 2012 at 6:50 am #18405Christopher
ParticipantWell, I just deleted everything on the page except for [events-calendar-large] and everything that was there before is still there. So I had some text before the [events-calendar-large] code that said … free events are listed free, support this site, blah blah blah. Then below the [events-calendar-large] I had “here are some other links to other events calendars in the state you might be interested in. I entered this text and the links (html) above and below the [events-calendar-large] code. I think I put in some too above and below to separate the sections from the calendar.

ParticipantI think I put in some hard rule html above and below the [events-calendar-large] to separate those sections from the calendar. Thanks!

ParticipantCool, glad to hear you figured it out. Just FYI, we don’t have any shortcodes available in our plugin, so you must either be referencing another plugin or an earlier version…

ParticipantHi Jonah,
I didn’t get it figured out at all. I removed all the text on the events page in wp-admin and all the text remains on the events page on the website.
I don’t understand about your short code comment … Do you mean I don’t need the [events-calendar-large] code??? Perhaps that’s what’s messing it up. ? Thanks … I’d love to figure out how I can update the links on the bottom of that page (and the text on top of that page). Can I have text on the same page as the calendar?April 30, 2012 at 5:48 pm #18452Jonah
ParticipantHey Christopher, ooops sorry about that. I thought you did have it figured out. What version of the plugin are you running and are you running any other event related plugins? Like I said, we don’t use shortcodes at all in our 2.0+ plugin, so [events-calendar-large] is not something from or for our plugin. That could be what’s messing it up, but maybe you are running an older version where we did use that shortcode… In that case you’ll want to upgrade to 2.0.5 but first find out what you are running. If you’d like I can take a quick look at things to save you some time. Just email jonah [at] tri [dot] be WP admin and I’ll take a look when I can.
Thanks,

ParticipantThanks Jonah. I added you as an editor .. is that enough clearance?

ParticipantProbably better to just make me an admin – don’t worry I won’t do anything you wouldn’t do 🙂

ParticipantI got this message this morning… so the calendar I guess will have to wait a couple days …. Sorry … thanks for offering to help .. .I’ll let you know when we’re back online! “””Unfortunately, we were forced to disable the script “/home/environ/public_html/ct/index.php” as it was causing high loading issues on the server. Due to this affecting all of the other accounts on the system, we had to take immediate action for the health of the server. “””

ParticipantYikes, sorry to hear about that. Please let me know when the site is back up and I’ll take another look.
Thanks,

ParticipantOkay, sorry about that. It should be safe to log in .. it’s just up in the past 6 hours, so it might be slightly clunky but I’m very interested in what I’m doing wrong because there’s clearly the

for calendar currently on the page. and I do want to put, if possible, text above and below the actual calendar rendering when all is said and done — rules on top and a list of other calendars on the bottom of the page. Thanks so much!

ParticipantIf you can wait til around 2 EST that might be best. I think he’s trying to back up the database, not that I think it would make much of a difference, but may be best. Thanks!!
