    Hi Modern Tribe,

Do you have any suggestions for a work-around to get events from Facebook to my website, or are there no options?

You mentioned two things in the update, but I’m not sure how exactly to implement them:

    1) How do I show interest in a Facebook event?

    2) What is an example of an event feed?

    Thanks,
    John

    Hey John

Facebook has been changing access on a day to day basis lately, even for approved integrations such as Event Aggregator. We are working to find a solution with them, but until then, you can see our current status at https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/. For now, no event integration can leave Facebook.

The interest in an event method had worked for a while last week. When you create the event, you can RSVP to your own event in Facebook as interested or going.

An event feed in Facebook would be something like https://www.facebook.com/pg/DowntownCburg/events/

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

    Thanks Courtney,

I was finally able to change over the FB account to someone who goes to all the events, but I’m still not seeing any of the current events transfer over.

    I’m using:

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/278880632601259/events/

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,
    John

    Hey John

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Facebook recently announced a range of changes (https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/04/restricting-data-access) to their APIs (the protocols we use to ‘speak’ to their servers and retrieve event information) which are having an effect on a number of our users.

As part of this, a number of new restrictions were applied to their Events API, which is the specific protocol Event Aggregator uses in order to import events, organizers, and venues. These changes went live with little notice to providers such as ourselves. At this point, it does not seem possible to reliably import any events, even if you created and ‘own’ events on Facebook and have linked Event Aggregator to Facebook using those same credentials.

This is frustrating for you, and for developers like us.  As Facebook continues to alter what it allows us to access, we will continue to pursue a path forward for Event Aggregator to import Facebook events.  We will continue to keep https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy and https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/ updated as this unfolds.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

Thanks John. I do know we’ve’ve resubmitted to Facebook with a new developers submission. However, the status of approvals is quite a mystery. Thank you for your patience. I’ll close this thread out for now since you’ve marked it resolved. We will post updates as soon as we can.

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂
