ParticipantI just installed Events Calendar / Pro and Shortcode plugins but I am not seeing shortcode to insert the submit events form, let alone anything else into my pages. I am looking in documentation using keyword “shortcode” but nothing is coming up with a list of shortcodes to display calendar, lists, submit events form, etc. Can someone please direct me to the documentation so I can complete the setup? [feeling a little dunce, I’m typically quite keen but I’m lost in these docs]
Thank you in advance.

MemberHey Leanne and welcome to the forums!
I have a feeling that there may have been a miscommunication somewhere down the line. Events Calendar PRO actually does not provide a feature to allow event submissions — it offers a lot of other features, but I’m afraid a submission for is not one of them.
That is, however, a feature of our Community Events add-on. That does exactly what you’re describing and includes the submission form shortcode to boot.
Is that what you were looking for? If so, it does look like you are well within the 30-day window of our return policy. Let me know if you would like to return Events Calendar PRO in exchange for Community Events and I’d be happy to help make that happen.
Thanks so much!

ParticipantHi Geoff, yes – we do need to offer that option – what are the other differences between the two?

MemberSure thing!
Events Calendar PRO is an extension to The Events Calendar that adds a bunch of premium features to the calendar, including:
- Advanced widgets and shortcodes for them
- Recurring events
- Custom event fields
- Additional views (day, week, photo and map)
- Organizer and Venue pages
You can see the complete breakdown of features here.
Community Events is another extension to The Events Calendar that specifically allows guests to submit events to the calendar from your website without having to log into the WordPress dashboard. You can receive and moderate those submissions.
Does this help explain the differences between the plugins? Let me know if you have other questions about them and I’d be happy to help. 🙂
Cheers,

ParticipantSo Community events doesn’t have calendar/list views? I need that functionality with the ability to submit. If I purchased the wrong one, I do need to get that settled up.
Thanks!

MemberHi Leanne, thanks for following up!
Community Events is an extension to The Events Calendar so, in other words, it adds the ability to submit events while The Events Calendar continues to provide you calendar List view.
Does that help?
Cheers!

ParticipantYes, that’s what I need then. How can I replace my purchase for the other?

MemberHey Leanne,
No worries at all! I just processed a refund for your purchase of Events Calendar PRO and you should see the funds back in your account in the next 5-10 business days. Feel free to pick up a Community Events license in exchange. 🙂
Cheers!
