GuestHi, we purchased calendar pro and the tickets addon last year for this project but really struggled getting it off the ground because we never truly understood if this solution would work, and which products we would need. We are just finalising designs for the theme changes to a new website for this project and next up is the events.
The project is for a company which sell training courses. There are approx 30 courses, each of which is of a duration ranging from 1-5 days (depending on the course type). Each course is ran on multiple dates at different locations (not the same date each month). For example course 1 (let’s call it a 2 day course) might be ran on 1-2nd Jan in Southampton, 8-9th Feb London, 14-15th June Manchester, 3-4th August Scotland etc
The idea is to make each training course a product in woocommerce, then perhaps use tickets per course, but the confusion comes with locations and tickets etc etc.
To explain it really easy, if you look at the current hard coded system on the website for an example course – https://www.batalas.co.uk/iso-9001-quality/foundation-course/#tab-8c0379fecd7dce6c31d
This “foundation” course would be a product in Woo. The table of “dates” within this particular product/course I guess would need to be tickets that can be purchased, but we tried this and it didn’t work because each ticket seemed to need to be in the same location, not different.
It may be that we need to create different events or tickets or whatever, then use some kind of shortcode to bring this info into the correct product, but would that then be “bookable” i.e. “add to cart” ?
If we have to create multiple events for each of these and then group/tag them together, would we be penalised by search engines for using the same description for each of these events.
As you can see we are a little confused by this, we absolutely love your product, but just need a push in the right direction to work out which place to start. Any help would be greatly received.
Thanks Rich

MemberHi, Rich. Thanks for your interest in our plugin suite (again).
There are people who use our ticketing products for class signups, which sort of rides the line between events and bookings functionality.
We’re not the perfect fit for bookings, such as a hairdresser that has 8-9, 9-10, 10-11 time slots 5 days a week.
However, our ticketing product also doesn’t currently support PRO’s recurring events. Although it sounds like your events won’t be recurring, here’s more information about this:
If you start to create a ticket for a recurring event, there will be a little question mark notice that reads:
Currently, tickets will only show up on the frontend once per full event. For PRO users this means the same ticket will appear across all events in the series. Please configure your events accordingly.
You should add your vote to this existing feature request for Event Tickets to support PRO’s recurring events.
Something some users are doing right now is using PRO’s recurring events to populate their events calendar but then breaking each occurrence from the series to turn them into single events — basically using PRO as an event generator but not actually using its recurring events functionality on the front-end. Others are just dealing with the tickets on recurring events even though you can’t then tell which occurrence they reserved the ticket for… use this information for your own reference but please don’t take it as any sort of recommendation.
Last but not least, we have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.
I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions. If so, please let me know whether or not you foresee yourself using recurring events for your classes.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
