ParticipantDear Tibe Team,
I’ve been able to translate almost everything I need in The Events Plugin, but two things:
1. The date format in the Week View: it still appears with the English sufix (“st”,”nd”,”rd”)
2. Some labels in the standard Filter Bar: including SOME of the “tribe-bar-views-list” options(I’ve attached some captures for further reference)
I guess this labels are hard-coded in some JS, but I can’t find them.
Could you please help me?
Thanks in advance!

MemberGood evening Gerardo and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.1. The date format in the Week View: it still appears with the English sufix (“st”,”nd”,”rd”)
This can be tackled at one of 3 levels:
- The date format found under Settings > General in WP-admin
- The date format found under Events -> Settings -> Display in WP-admin
- The date format found defined in your WordPress theme
2. Some labels in the standard Filter Bar: including SOME of the “tribe-bar-views-list” options
This can be due to the fact that our latest release had some issues with the language files delivered in the latest update.
This is impacting Core, Pro, Community and Community Tickets.
Even the files on http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects are not right
The workaround for now will be to update the po file from the pot file
This can be done in Poedit using Catalog > Update from pot fileLet me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantHi Geoff!
Thanks for your quick response. This is my update:
1. I haven’t been able to remove date’s English suffixes. I’ve already checked WordPress general config and Event Plugin settings (screen captures attached). I’m still waiting for the theme’s developer response (TokoPress – https://themeforest.net/item/eventica-event-calendar-ecommerce-for-wordpress/10102155)
2. I’ve successfully translated Filter Bar labels. THANKS!
3. (NEW) I’m trying to personalize the Day View (generated with the [view=”day”] shortcode) so that:
a. If there’s any event today: show it
b. If there’s no event today: show next eventI know this is a customization that requires some coding, but could you please help me telling me which file(s) should I change to achieve this?
Thanks again!
Gerardo.

MemberGood evening Gerardo,
Thank you for writing back.
- I believe you might be right. I believe the date format might be coming from the theme or your child theme. A quick test could be to revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty sixteen and see if that works. If not, I would check to see if Loco Translate is not “taking over”.
- Awesome!
- That is a great question. Before you begin, you might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how customizations work. In fact, this is exactly how Eventica customized our Calendar.
To make a long story short, you need to tweak the day view template file and add some conditionals in there.
It is worth noting that changing that view will not only change the shortcode version of it, but the actual “real” day view as well.
If coding is not really your thing, you can always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
Have a great day!
