Sticky Error/Bug: Event Posts incorrectly appear as "Stickies" at Top Homepage

The error/bug is that Event Posts incorrectly appear as Sticky Event Posts at the top homepage. No sticky boxes were checked. They should appear within other news/blog posts, yes, but they should Not appear as Sticky posts. Do you have any tips or can you point me in the right direction? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums!

Have you tried reverting back to the default theme and deactivating all other plugins to see if the problem still occurs? Take a look at our Testing for conflicts article to see if there is a conflict of some sort going on.
