When I sort the list of events in the admin by Start Date ASC, 5-9 events in 2017 are listed before the first event chronologically. This happens on two different sites I manage that are using The Events Calendar PRO. After the handful of events in 2017, the events are in order by Start Date ASC. Ordering by Start Date DESC works correctly.

I notice the first events in your screenshots are in draft mode. It is expected that these might not fit into the ascending criteria properly.
You might be interesting in what Advanced Post Manager can do.
Let me know if this resolves the issue for you for the one event that isn’t in order and not a draft.

ParticipantSome are drafts, yes, but not all. The “Guided Leopold Shack Tour” is not a Draft. I also attached a screenshot of another site that didn’t get added to my initial post. This site has the same issue and it has four events from 2017 listed first that are not drafts. The events out of order are all recurring, but after the initial events out of order, the rest of the list contains recurring events that are listed in correct order.

So – drafts will appear first in the ascending order sort.
The dates that are all first appear to be recurring. Is that the case? Are they supposed to occur on that day? Unfortunately, my test of recurring dates could not reproduce this.
Can you send me a screenshot of one of the events that is recurring that appears first?
Finally, can you go through our Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/?ย I am wondering if you might have a plugin or theme conflict.ย Begin by deactivating all other plugins, using a theme such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/, and see if the issue still persists. Also, double check for any other updates available (Dashboard ยป Updates).ย
Please let me know if the issue still persists after these tests.
