"Sorry, you are not allowed to edit this item" problem when posting event.

I have a user with the “editor” role trying to create and publish an event. The user can fill everything out, including title, location, time/place/category/etc, but when publishing, gets the “sorry, you are not allowed to edit this item” and nothing in the actual event info is published. The event is still created and visible, just without any text in that area.

I checked and I have all of the right roles checked for the user to post/edit/delete/etc everything related to the events calendar.

Any ideas?

The editor should be able to create an event with no problem, and it looks like you’ve gotten part of the way there. This leads me to believe there might be a conflict within your theme or another one of your plugins.

The information you get from this step should help us narrow down the source of the problem and get you to a resolution.

Thanks for your response. I finally figured out the issue, and it had to do with the fact that I had a custom user editor with the User Role Editor plug-in. I was limiting users to editing a single page (so a page with a single post_id), and it was excluding all other post-types, including the page to post a new event. I added a line of code in the functions.php file and all is well with the world. Here’s the workaround for anyone else with a similar issue in the future:
