GuestBasically looking for a solution where a person can come in to the website, buy a package of 10/20/unlimited sessions, book them on a calendar, and receive an email with a QR code in it that allows them to scan that QR code 10/20/unlimited times depending on what package they purchased.
What I believe I’ll have to do as of now is, use Events Calendar PRO and Events Tickets Plus and modify the php for Events TIckets Plus to control # of scans permitted depending on product, hoping I don’t have to do this as it sounds tricky!June 2, 2017 at 3:51 pm #1292637Jennifer
KeymasterHi Varun,
Thanks for checking out our plugins!
You are correct that the QR functionality you are describing would involve a bit of php customization. Scanning a QR code on a ticket marks it as “checked in” – there isn’t an out of the box way to set the number of scans allowed per ticket. If you’d like to give it a shot, we do have a great themer’s guide with lots of info on customizing our plugins.
By purchasing our premium plugins, you will also get access to our premium support forums. We are not currently able to do customizations, but we are definitely there to answer questions and help point you in the right direction!
Regarding allowing users to buy and book sessions…I’m not sure exactly what you mean by sessions, but how events and ticketing works is that events are created, tickets can be added to them, and then users can go to those events on your site and buy tickets for them. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way for users to buy a ticket and then schedule the dates that they want to use them on.
If you are thinking of using Events Calendar Pro’s recurring events functionality to create the “package” of sessions, be aware that Event Tickets Plus does not currently support recurring tickets. You can technically add them to recurring events, but it will be the same ticket on each event in the series (so if a user added a ticket from 2 different dates in a series, they would get 1 ticket in their cart with a quantity of 2). However, it sounds like that may be what you are looking for here in order to get the “package” functionality.
I hope that clears up how Events Calendar Pro and Event Tickets Plus work together, but please just let me know if you have any more questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer

GuestHi Jennifer,
Thanks for the detailed response.
Would it be possible to sell 10 tickets at once, then allow the user to book any 10 sessions as per their need?
We would send them 10 QR codes in their email, check them in and manage their bookings for the purpose of capacity management. I’m almost thinking, they have to enter a ticket ID to be able to book an event and ticket IDs are emailed with their 10 tickets.
Sorry if this is something you’ve already explainend!June 5, 2017 at 7:29 am #1293138Varun
GuestJust to re-iterate, I’m very interested in purchasing Events Calendar PRO and Events Ticket Plus hence why I’m inquiring in detail 🙂

KeymasterHi Varun,
No worries, I’m happy to elaborate!
Users can buy as many tickets as they’d like at once (each of which would have its own QR code), however they would have to buy them on the event itself. Tickets currently cannot be sold “standalone” and then attached to an event afterward.
Regarding ticket IDs, each ticket does have a unique ID that is generated when the ticket is created. However, Event Tickets Plus will let you add additional fields that users need to complete when buying tickets, so you could potentially use this to collect information about which “sessions” they would like to attend. Keep in mind though that while you can make these fields required, there isn’t any other validation on them besides selecting the type (text, radio, checkbox, dropdown).
Does that make sense?
The hard part here is having users book their sessions separately from where they buy their tickets. Your easiest bet would be to create several events as sessions and then add the tickets right on them. You can set a maximum number of tickets available for each.
We do offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase if you are not satisfied, so feel free to give it a try!
If you have any more questions, I am here to help!

GuestHi Jennifer,
Thanks for being patient and extremely helpful, I’m glad the support for this plug-in exceeds expectations!
I have one last question, I am able to setup woocommerce products to credit user accounts depending on what the user purchases using this plug-in.
myCREDMy last question is, can I possibly use the credits allocate to the user and use those to book events in The Events Calendar, if so then I’ll buy purchasing this right away!

KeymasterHi Varun,
No problem, I am happy to help!
I am not familiar with myCRED and can’t give you a 100% guarantee here, but <span style=”font-size: 0.875rem;”>I did look into it a little bit. It does say that it’s compatible with WooCommerce, and tickets are technically WooCommerce simple products. To buy a ticket, the user adds it to their cart just like any other product. </span><span style=”font-size: 0.875rem;”>Based on this, I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t be able to allow the use of credits for ticket purchases. Please feel free to test it out though, and if you can’t get it working the way you need it to, we’ll be happy to give you a refund within 30 days!</span>
As always, I’m here if you have any more questions! : )
