I am considering Events Calendar Pro for a church site. I have a question about signing up for events. This is what I’d like to do:

Use Events Calendar Pro to set up an Events Calendar for various events like Pancake Breakfasts and Fish Frys.

Have members go to the site, pick an event, and not so much say they will attend but to “sign up” to volunteer, which I guess could saying they want to attend. Sometimes it might be an event to attend, other times it could be an event to work at, or maybe both.

Is this done by using the Ticket plugin or portion of Events Calendar? If anybody has any insight it’s greatly appreciated.

Oh, and are there discounts for churches, non-profits?

    Thanks.

    Hi, Dan.

Thanks for your interest in our plugin suite.

It sounds like you can accomplish what you’re wanting with our free The Events Calendar and Event Tickets plugins.

I’d suggest trying those out and then, if you need some of Events Calendar PRO‘s features, then you can buy it (or our other add-ons, e.g. Event Tickets Plus) if needed.

Event Tickets Plus is our paid add-on plugin that upgrades the functionality of our free Event Tickets plugin.

Event Tickets Plus enables you to sell tickets via one of our supported eCommerce platforms. The free plugin only enables free RSVP-type tickets.

You can view our roundup/comparison of all the eCommerce plugins ET+ supports.

Our plugin uses your eCommerce plugin of choice, but your eCommerce plugin isn’t displayed for shopping pages. Please reference our Making Tickets KB article (screenshots are from an install using WooCommerce) for an idea how to create tickets for an event.

Site visitors would purchase tickets from each event’s single page/view (e.g. example.com/events/rogers-day-at-the-zoo/) — if there is an RSVP to submit or ticket to purchase.

The order confirmation email will include a QR code that can be scanned to “check in” someone at the door at the time of the event. You can read more at Tickets: Managing your orders and attendees.

It doesn’t sound like you’d need that functionality, but maybe you will.

In conclusion, you should give Event Tickets’ RSVP tickets a try; you could have a “volunteer” ticket type and an “attendee” ticket type if you want that too.

We do offer nonprofit discounts, but I’m unsure if we provide it for churches. There are different staff members who administer that program.

Last but not least, we have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.

I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. Thanks so much!
