Hello,
i have the same problem as described here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/recurring-events-dominate-site-search-results/:
In my WP Search Results, all recurring events are listed and dominate the results and the pages are pushed behind.
And the answer from Barry worked great, but in my case there are also some Sub-Pages which must be in the results, so the post_parent-Option can not be 0. Is there any solution that only the next one of the recurring events is shown?
Thanks for your answers!

Thanks for reaching out to us!
I tried modifying that snippet but there isn’t a straight way of doing so. I will reach the team to see if someone can think of a way to achieve what you are looking for.
I do want to note that we are fairly limited in how much we can support custom development questions like this. That said, we’d be happy to at least point you in the right direction as best we can, but it may take us a day or more to get back to you depending on our availability.
We also have a list of freelancers who we would happily recommend for this level of help.

Just wanted to let you know that the code snippet from that other topic is a good starting place, but allowing child pages to be included in the query is more complex and will require extra where clauses to be injected into the query.
This is of course custom coding territory, which we do not support. As a reference, you can see here https://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Query for the parameters that could be used in the query.
I hope that helps you get started.

This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
