solace
ParticipantHi, Not sure if I’m using the wrong keywords to search for this, so my apologies if the answer is elsewhere.
I’m selling tickets to an event, which is a workshop with accommodation included.
There are two features I need working together:
1. Early bird pricing
2. Single supplement for a room has an additional cost (eg. having a twin room to yourself instead of sharing)I would prefer not to implement early bird as a coupon, because it’s a hassle for users. But I can’t implement it as a separate ticket type because the earlybird and regular priced ticket cannot share a maximum quantity pool. If it isn’t possible to have two tickets share a quantity pool, I will settle for a coupon.
But how do I implement the single supplement? Again, I can’t create two tickets one with and one without because there’s a fixed capacity and I don’t want to oversell the availability. Is there a way to share it? Or is there a way to add an add-on product ( the way you might be able to buy a t-shirt or a CD when you buy tickets to a music event ) to the event page?
Addendum: Will http://www.woothemes.com/products/product-add-ons/ work with WooTickets and would this addon serve the function I require?
Thanks

MemberHi – thanks for these questions 🙂

I’m afraid at this time pooled inventory is not supported, so a coupon may indeed be the best bet here.
Again, I can’t create two tickets one with and one without because there’s a fixed capacity and I don’t want to oversell the availability. Is there a way to share it?
Could you have a second ticket that is clearly marked as representing the single supplement (and so requires them to also buy the regular ticket item)? You could rely on explanatory text to encourage the user to act appropriately, or indeed do a little customization work to ensure if the supplement is added the base product also is. If that won’t work, read on … !
Will http://www.woothemes.com/products/product-add-ons/ work with WooTickets and would this addon serve the function I require?
That could possibly provide you with a way of solving some of these issues. The caveat is you would really need to be able to reach the actual WooCommerce product page for the ticket products in question. That’s possible – check out this thread for a possible starting point here.
I hope that helps and please do feel free to add your support to suitable existing feature requests re the above over on UserVoice (or even create brand new requests if you prefer and it’s appropriate) 🙂
