ParticipantMy events calendar was working just fine using X Theme. Then I upgraded to Pro and now this. I can’t save anything.
The view is as below. Utterly unusable. I did unplug everything and it made no difference. However it did show up when I changed to the default Twenty Fourteen theme. But with all the text overlapping. So that seems to indicate that it isn’t working properly on the default theme either. Please help!!May 28, 2016 at 9:23 am #1120077George
ParticipantI’m sorry to hear about all of this, @Sarah!
First, if things started working once you activated a default theme, then the X Theme seems to be causing most of your problems. For support with that and assistance in getting that theme to not break plugins, please contact the theme support team.
You mention text overlapping, which is something we can look at separately, and may just be a CSS issue.
For now, can you please post your site’s “System Information”? Here’s how: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Also, if you would like me to try and fix the text-overlap issue, can you activate the default theme on your site again; leave your site in this state temporarily; and then share a link to where the overlapping-text issue can be seen? I will take a look and recommend a solution.
Thank you!

ParticipantHi Sarah,
I appreciate your posting login information here, but we unfortunately are not able to log into customer sites for any reason, and so I will not be using that information and have removed it from this site in the interest of security.
Next, in your most recent reply you cited files whose paths include /the-events-calendar-2/common/tribe-autoload.php.
Before getting into some of the other issues here, I would recommend “cleaning up” the plugin directory on your site. The fact that the plugin directory name is /the-events-calendar-2 indicates that there may be other versions of The Events Calendar files on your site.
To reduce fix this and ensure that this is not adding to the problems here, please log into your site’s server via FTP and head to the /wp-content/plugins directory. Delete all instances of directories with the following names:
• /the-events-calendar
• /the-events-calendar-2
• /events-calendar-pro
• /events-calendar-pro-2☝️ And so on—any directory like this.
This process will “clean” the plugins directory of all The Events Calendar plugins.
Once you have DELETED all existing files for The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro on your site, install fresh copies of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro. You can get fresh files for The Events Calendar here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar. And you can get fresh files for Events Calendar Pro here: http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads
You say you have already done some similar steps to this with Events Calendar Pro, but I am just recommending this for BOTH The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro to make sure things are correct and there are no file conflicts.
Once you do all of this, please activate both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro and share a link directly to your site’s broken Events page—I will take a look at the page with debugging tools to identify the errors.
Thank you,

ParticipantHi George,
I’ve done everything you said.
The events I had added previously were all still there after I had deleted all the plugin files from the server.
I don’t know if that means the files weren’t cleared properly?
I reinstalled fresh files from the link you provided(just the calendar not the pro)
Anyway, now nothing at all shows on the events page apart from the page title.http://www.waterarthouse.co.uk/LoveAmbleside/events/
Hope you’ll be able to figure it out!
Thanks

ParticipantHi George,
further to that, I’ve tried swapping themes and this time nothing shows up on any theme.
So I’m wondering how you’ll see anything to debug?
I’m also getting highly anxious as I need to hand this site over to a client by wednesday and the most important aspect is the events calendar!May 29, 2016 at 2:14 am #1120216Sarah
ParticipantSorry to come piecemeal like this, but now events page is showing but with all the problems it had before. That is, not showing a calendar.

ParticipantHi, have you had a chance to check as to why plugin won’t save any settings etc?
ThanksMay 31, 2016 at 3:32 am #1120570Sarah
ParticipantI have heard nothing for 3 days. Is there any chance of being responded to?
May 31, 2016 at 7:03 am #1120617George
ParticipantHi Sarah,
As noted in our license support policy we only provide support on business days, with a response time of 24 hours during the business week.
I responded to you on a Saturday.
Your last reply was on Sunday, May 29.
In the United States, this past weekend has been Memorial Day weekend. A three-day weekend.
Thanks for waiting.

ParticipantAs for your issues:
I went to http://www.waterarthouse.co.uk/LoveAmbleside/events/
It seems to me that the list view is working correctly there. I did see some discrepancies on the month view, though.
First, I noticed your domain is http://www.waterarthouse.co.uk/LoveAmbleside/events/
To be clear, The Events Calendar does not currently offer support for having the /events/ URL be a sub-url. So, while http://www.waterarthouse.co.uk/events/ should work fine, http://www.waterarthouse.co.uk/LoveAmbleside/events/ will likely have problems just from your URL alone. /events is fine; /LoveAmbleside/events/ will not work; /pages/example/events will not work; /subpage/events will not work, etc.
So I would recommend making sure the /events URL is right on the root of the domain. Something like http://www.waterarthouse.co.uk/events/
As for the settings not saving at all, I still cannot recreate this behavior. Can you confirm what specific issues are currently outstanding? I understand your angst to get this out the door as soon as possible. To help us do this efficiently and as quickly as possible, please first move your events URL to the root of the domain instead of a sub-page, and then list your specific outstanding issues.
Thank you for your patience. I will work as fast as I can based on your response here.

ParticipantThank you for getting back to me.
The problem for me in moving the events page/calendar is that I am creating the site on a sub domain and only when it is finished, can I move it to its own domain. However you are right, the list view is now showing. I have presumed you must have done something to make that to happen, so thank you very much.
Apologies for my impatience, I had no idea about memorial day weekend.
SarahMay 31, 2016 at 10:17 am #1120744George
ParticipantHey Sarah,
It’s no worries about the Memorial Day thing, and I am sorry about the timing of these issues. I do genuinely appreciate your patience and just wanted you to know more clearly what to expect in support timelines.
With that in mind, then, while I did not do anything to make the list view work, if you move the site to its own domain when it is fully finished and such (as you mention), and issues persist, please let me know and share links to where these issues are visible.
Sincerely,
George -
