    Hello,
I have about 200 events that repeat yearly by day of the week. I’m importing these from a CSV file. Is there a way I can create the repeating events from the CSV file? If not is there any way to set these in groups within the event editor? Setting these ones by one is tedious.
If I do get these loaded, will the calendar perform well with this large number repeating events? I’ve set the pattern to never-ending and then set the management to delete events after 2 months old and to create new events 14 months ahead. There also 10 weekly repeating events as well.
    Thank you.

    Hi Thomas,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

You can create events with CSV files.  Here are some examples of how to do that:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/csv-files-options-and-examples/

However recurring events are not currently supported by CSV.

You can also vote on this idea in our Feature Requests, as we tend to implement ideas based on customer feedback, so your input is greatly appreciated:

    https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/8142342-add-a-recurring-event-option-to-csv-uploads

You may be able to achieve this functionality with the use of a third-party plugin like WP All Import, but I cannot make any guarantees.

Once you have recurring events on your site, you may want to take a look at our Performance Considerations article, so that everything runs optimally:

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

I was wondering if I could insert the repeating evens into programmatically into mysql directly? I poked around a bit and it looked like they are stored in the postmeta table. Before I spent time trying to figure this out, I thought I’d ask.

    Hi Thomas,

Unfortunately I don’t believe you can get recurring events in that way, however it is possible for you to check things out for yourself.

Please also note that support for customizations is limited as stated in our support policy.

If this functionality is a requirement for your intended project, I’d suggest that a third-party developer would be the best way to make this feature happen on a short timeline. ? We maintain a list of developers who work with our plugins on our Knowledgebase here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/find-a-customizer/

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
