    Hello,
    We have had a problem with the “El Events Calendar PRO” plugging (Versión 4.4.20.1). Somehow it started to replicate one event “La afilada rueda del karma”. I desactivated it and the replication stop. But I don’t know how to solve it

    Hello,

    I’m sorry you’re running into this issue, but I’ll be happy to help you figure out what’s going on! We did just release versions 4.6.9 of The Events Calendar and 4.4.21 of Events Calendar Pro. Can you update to the current versions?

    Is this a recurring event or a single event? If it’s recurring, can you please send me a screenshot of the recurrence rules?

    Also, when you say it started replicating, did you suddenly have duplicates, or did they continue duplicating over a period of time?

    Hello Jennifer,

    thank you for your help. I have been deleting this event (still I am on it). I was thinking to activate the plugging and to update it (I have to ask first) after deleting all.

    It was a recurring event, but now I can’t see the rules (maybe because I desactivate de plugging? I am not sure). It was quite simple, one event on 21st Feb from 19:30 to 21:00, repeating every week until 16th of May.

    I don’t know when the duplication started excactly, but once it started it keeped going on until I desactivate de “El Events Calendar PRO”. Every hour it created duplications. My idea was to delete all these events and then activate and update (this last I have to ask) and then to create the event again and to check all is right.

    Hi Jonás,

    This does sound very odd. You are correct that deactivating Pro will remove the recurrence functionality from events. Can you upgrade to the latest version (4.4.21), reactivate, delete the entire series, and recreate the event?

    Please take a screenshot of all of your settings on the event, and if the event does start duplicating again, send us the screenshot so that we can try to recreate this on our end.

    Hi Jennifer,

    thank you very much. We have update the plugging. When I activated it it started again to duplicate, it seems a kind of clonation of the event series. When I go to delete the event through editing all, it can eliminates one serie but it seems it is replicating diferent series. Unfortunately I am also taking some time in deleting it, because I can delete only few at the same time (if not I have error 502 server take too long to answer).

    I was able to take the screenshot now.

    By now I will delete all and then activate it. Finally I will create the event again and check what will happend.

    Hi Jonás,

    Thanks for trying this out…unfortunately the screenshot didn’t come through. If you are replying via email, attachments are not included. Can you please login and add it directly to this thread?

    To cleanup the series, try out this extension. As mentioned in the instructions, be sure to make a full database backup before running the cleanup tool (just to be on the extra-safe side). After you’ve deleted this series and created a new one, please let me know if it starts duplicating again.

    Hi Jennifer,

    Thank you very much for your help. I think yesterday I did a mistake. When I activated the plugging it generetaded a complete series (I thought it was replicating, but maybe not, maybe it was just completing the serie).

    Anyway, I have deleted all events. Then I have activated the plugging and I have created the event again. I have been checking if it stars duplicating but it seems now it is ok.

    Hi Jonás,

    I’m glad that it seems to be working now! For future reference, there are also two things to double-check with recurring events:

    -The “Create recurring events in advance for” setting under Events > Settings > General

    -The “Series ends” setting in the recurrence rules section of the event edit screen

    Depending on these settings, you could wind up with a large number of events for one series.

    Since this has been marked resolved, I’ll go ahead and close it out. If this starts happening again, please go ahead and open up a new thread with a screenshot of the settings that you have for that event. You can also reference this thread, and we’ll be happy to help you continue working on this!
