Searching by Venue

The search bar currently does not search by venue. Is it possible to change this? Has it been done before? Sorry if this has been posted before but can’t find anything.

I’m using the normal free events calendar and event tickets plus.

Not sure if you are talking about the search field actually or if you want to include a specific drop-down for selecting a venue in the events bar?

I took a look into the code to see if there’s a quick way of doing this but unfortunately there isn’t 🙁

If you are up to code this you might be interested in the tribe-events-bar-filters filter hook (you can see where this comes into play within the modules/bar.php template, where tribe_events_get_filters() is called) – this would let you knock out and replace (or modify) the location search filter. On the other hand if you don’t have the skills or time to do so you can reach out to any of these freelancers that make custom work for our plugins.

Hi,

Really that is a quick way to solve it – getting rid of that filters line does allow for venue searching. Is there another file where the filters are defined? I don’t know why venues would be disabled in the search by default.

Ideally there’d be another input box for the venue but if this is the only possible way then it’ll be acceptable.
