GuestHi –
I am currently using The Events Calendar free version as embedded with my WP theme. The website is for a gym and we are trying to allow our clients the ability to sign-up for classes/events and have a finite of spots for each event (once those spaces are full, no one else can reserve). I thought about a ticketing option however there is no actual purchase/exchange of funds, as each client is a paid member of the gym. Some basic tracking would be helpful too — just a way for the trainers to keep track of who is signed up for what event (or at least the number of attendees). Is this possible with one of your products? If so, which one?
Thanks in advance,

MemberHey Russ!
Interesting question–I like the way you’re thinking about this and it totally makes sense.
Right now, events and tickets are kinda the only way to go about it as far as The Events Calendar goes. You could see about using the Eventbrite Tickets add on with The Events Calendar. Eventbrite does provide “free” tickets that can be tracked and used for check in onsite. That way, you can create events more as appointment or classes, then take reservations based on those who register for the event.
Does that make sense? Would that work for you? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

GuestThanks Geoff. I think this will work — I’ll give it a shot and report back if there are any issues.

GuestGeoff –
One more thing — I also need to be able to load recurring events (i.e. Class that occurs every Monday at 7am) — I see this is available in Events Calendar PRO but would really prefer not to have to purchase both Add-ons…is there a way around this?
Thanks again.

MemberHi Russ–thanks for following up! I’m glad this has helped so far. 🙂
Yes, recurring events are only available in The Events Calendar PRO, so both add-ons would be necessary if you wanted to support recurring events as well. Otherwise, you could create a new event each time it occurs.
I totally understand not wanting to get multiple add ons. We do occasionally offer discounts through our newsletter (bottom of this page) and Twitter, so those would be two places to keep an eye on if you wanted to catch a deal.
Feel free to let me know if you have any other follow-up questions here and I’d be happy to help. 🙂
Cheers!

GuestThanks again, Geoff. Last question, do you guys have a trial period (in case the add-on does not end up working for our purposes)?

MemberFor sure! We have a full 30-day return policy on all our plugins. You can grab them, take them for a spin, then return them by email with a copy of your receipt with no questions asked. That should give you a hefty amount of time to play around with them to see if they work out. 🙂
Cheers!
