Resend Tickets Option and Tickets not Being Emailed

Hi,
I just installed Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus and when an order is placed, the plugin is not sending out the tickets. Also, the resend ticket option gives a white screen if you try to use it. I disabled all plugins, I downgraded the Woocommerce Version, I cleared temporarily my functions.php file to test it out and nothing. Can you please advise? Thanks.

I’m really sorry to hear about this.

I will investigate the issue with the “resent ticket” option.

For now, though, can you get things back to how they were, and then see if when a ticket order is placed the order inside WooCommerce is marked as “complete” or not?

If it not marked “complete”, does marking it “Complete” get the email to eventually send?

I have a snippet that autocomplete all orders. Everything was working great with the Woocommerce Tickets Legacy Plugin. It was after the change with the new ticket system.

Thanks for this extra information. I have three specific questions about the bug and your site, and hopefully I can use the information you provide in response to them to figure out what’s going on here.

Here are those three questions:

1. Can you share the specific snippet that you are using to auto-complete orders?

2. Can you clarify which one of these best summarizes your problem:

• The auto-complete snippet does work and marks orders as “complete”; but the issue is that “completed” orders now to not seem to be triggering the emails.
• OR
• The auto-complete snippet itself does not work any more. The orders are not marked “complete” and so the emails never send. (if this option is the case, then can you also clarify whether or not the emails do send once you manually mark them as “Complete”? or even then, do the emails STILL fail?

We may actually have a bug here, which I’m sorry to bear the news about, but I’m curious: if you head to WooCommerce > Settings > Emails in your wp-admin, is there anything in the box next “Tickets” at the bottom of the page? For example, here’s a screenshot of this admin page for me, which shows this box empty:

Is that “Tickets” box empty for you, too?

I appreciate your patience with this thread immensely.

I’ve been working on a fix for this, but then in the midst of writing a fix…I could no longer create the problem!

Emails send for me without issue – I am not sure what changed this or what caused the original problem to begin with.

Without being able to reproduce the problem itself, it’s hard if not impossible for me to come up with a code-based fix for it.

However, one thing that is still worth trying out is an SMTP email plugin like this one for example → https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/

What a plugin like this does is change the way WordPress sends its emails from the IMAP method to SMTP – this is something that is often required for emails to work, and we use this here on http://theeventscalendar.com itself for example.

I would recommend trying out this plugin and setting it up, doing some test ticket purchases and such to see if anything changes – does it? Let me know!
