Repeating Event Going to Wrong Date

When I create a repeating event, the link that is generated in the events widget does not take me to the first event in the series, it is skipping to the second event.

As an example, here https://www.socalsem.edu/academics/community-courses/. (see image attached). This event begins May 9, but no one can access week 9. Every link takes users to week 16.

This problem occurs on both websites that utilize my pro account license.
