ParticipantOther current issues: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/unknown-column-eventstartdate-in-order-clause-when-transferring-events/#post-996173 and https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/all-reoccurring-events-are-broken/
As stated in the above two threads these issues have arisen after exporting the data and importing the data on a new site. Plugin version is the same and the main differences between the sites is the Genesis theme.
When on the main evens page and selecting Week as the view, none of the reoccuring events are displaying. This is probably because their dates are all messed up in the system.

ParticipantHey Matt,
Thanks for sharing links to these other issues. To keep things organized, I’ve closed your other recurrence-related thread since that’s quite similar to this thread. Now we just have your database/export thread and this one, so hopefully that helps us keep things organized and efficient as we try to help!
Now, speaking of your recurrence issues, I hate to start off on a somewhat prosaic foot when you describe the urgency of your issues, but it’s important to get a good sense of the state of things on your site before getting too far afield with theories about where these issues might arise from. It is Possible that the database-related issues in your other thread are at play here – though it could also be something as simple as version-number inconsistencies.
So, for starters can you please just address each of these pieces of information and then we can keep working on this from there:
1. What version of The Events Calendar is currently active on your site?
2. What version of Events Calendar Pro is currently active on your site?
3. Is our Eventbrite Tickets add-on active on your site? And if so: what version is active?
4. What version of WordPress itself is your site running? Finally, for now:
5. Can you explain exactly what you mean about this statement of yours: “This is probably because their dates are all messed up in the system.”
How specifically are the dates messed up? And is that because of your database migration?
Thank you,

Participant1. What version of The Events Calendar is currently active on your site?
Version should be 3.11.1. Just discovered at some point someone recently updated the plugin to 3.11.2. Yet another issue with your plugin… you just have to know the undocumented (on site) intricacies of how this plugin works and are required to keep two separate plugins at the same versions – all the while the plugin tells you to update. This is super confusing, the update the system tells you to get actually just breaks things…
Side Note: It seems programmatically simple to run a check to see if the PRO plugin is installed/active and to check versions against that and don’t offer the update notice unless both can be updated. Or, give the user a notice if the versions are out of sync. Or better yet… stop requiring two separate plugins and make the PRO version stand alone. Any of the above would prevent this, I’m sure this is a fairly common issue since it was the #1 and #2 questions.
I have manually downgraded back to 3.11.1. Both plugins now have the same version.
This appears to have fixed the reoccurring issue described below. The Week event view is still broken.
2. What version of Events Calendar Pro is currently active on your site?
Version 3.11.1
3. Is our Eventbrite Tickets add-on active on your site? And if so: what version is active?
Not installed.
4. What version of WordPress itself is your site running?
Latest: 4.2.4
Finally, for now:
5. Can you explain exactly what you mean about this statement of yours: “This is probably because their dates are all messed up in the system.”
I went into more detail on the other linked ticket:
ALL reoccurring events are broken on the site. For example:
Main Events Page: http://fbca1.thrivenetmarketing.com/events/
The third event down, “Awaken Service” is a reoccurring event set for “August 16, 2015 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am”.
The URL is inexplicably: http://fbca1.thrivenetmarketing.com/event/awaken-service-2/2014-02-02/
Which seems wrong given it’s a 2015 event in august not a 2014 event in February.
Based on that, I’m not at all surprised I’m getting a “This Event Has passed” error and all of the details are wrong and for the 2014 event.
This is what I meant by the dates are messed up in the system. This issue seems to be resolved now that the versions are back in sync.

ParticipantThe Week view has actually gotten worse now that the versions are matched.
Before the Week view would show all non reoccuring events.
Now is doesn’t display any events and the back and previous buttons do nothing. Clicking previous or next doesn’t appear to trigger any URL change or ajax reload. But tough to say since there are no events being displayed.

ParticipantHey Matt,
There are a few things to touch on here.
First of all is that you make a good point about us being more clear in our communication about version numbers – I am sorry about confusion that has arisen from that, especially since I have another layer of explanation to add there: when I meant “version numbers being the same”, you actually can and should have version 3.11.2 of Core and 3.11.1 of Pro running side-by-side.
This is where we can do a better job of communicating, and your feedback is much appreciated: “version number” consistency really hinges on the first two numbers, the “Main Releases”. The “Dot Releases”, the third number, can be up-to-date if not equal and it’s not a problem.
So, in other words, 3.11.2 of Core and 3.11.1 is the right configuration if you’re trying to be up-to-date. However, 3.11.2 of Core and 3.10.0 of Pro would not work. Similarly, then, 3.10.3 of Core and 3.10.2 of Pro would be fine, while 3.10.0 of Core and 3.9.3 of Pro would not.
I hope that makes some more sense here.
So, definitely get Core back up to 3.11.2, and Pro up to 3.11.1 which it’s already at. We do have warnings for when version numbers are inconsistent, like you mention, or when an update is required.
Just wanted to cover this stuff. Your feedback is meaningful and much appreciated here, and we can definitely improve our communication on this. Sorry it took some frustration on your end for this to become realized.
I will post another reply about your specific technical issues.

ParticipantOkay, as for your technical issues aside from the version number stuff now:
I hate to nitpick your language, but with an issue as complex as this one can be, every word matters and some things you wrote are not very clear. There’s no worries about this, I’m just setting up a bit of a preamble because I want to be 100% certain I understand all of your issues, and language vagueness can make that tricky.
Case in point is what you wrote here:
This is what I meant by the dates are messed up in the system. This issue seems to be resolved now that the versions are back in sync.
1. Do you mean that simply reverting the version numbers has wholly resolved the issue of the dates being messed up? So that, for example, your event at http://fbca1.thrivenetmarketing.com/event/awaken-service-2/2014-02-02/ suddenly gets the right date and the right Permalink reflecting that? If this is not what you mean, please be very specific about what the difference is between versions.
2. If the Week View is broken, but events are all visible and accessible from the admin (with wrong dates, yes, but otherwise intact), then there is likely a theme or plugin conflict causing the issues on the front-end of your site. So, after updating Core to 3.11.2, I would recommend running through the complete set of steps here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
Let us know what you find from doing those steps, where you check on the Week View (and the recurrence/Event-Date issues as well, in fact) after EACH plugin deactivation and after your theme change as outlined in that article.
Thank you for your patience here,

Yes, that’s the conclusion I hoped you arrived at.
The Event used for Example:
The third event down, “Awaken Service” is a reoccurring event set for “August 16, 2015 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am”.
The URL in the broken state:
The URL is inexplicably: http://fbca1.thrivenetmarketing.com/event/awaken-service-2/2014-02-02/
Explanation as to why this is the incorrect URL:
Which seems wrong given it’s a 2015 event in august not a 2014 event in February.
Based on that, I’m not at all surprised I’m getting a “This Event Has passed” error and all of the details are wrong and for the 2014 event.
Confirmation that this specific part of the problem is resolved with version sync:
This issue seems to be resolved now that the versions are back in sync.

Participant#2 Reply
I believe I have narrowed it down to a theme conflict of some kind. The Ajax week reload is working with default genesis loaded and no other changes made.
With the child theme active the ajax advancing has no function and no JS error.

ParticipantHey Matt,
Thanks for your patience here! Issue #2 definitely does sound like a theme issue, so best of luck with that as you work on fixing those conflicts.
As for the issue with recurring event links – this is very odd behavior and I cannot recreate problems, or their resolution, like this if I use previous and then more recent versions of the plugin.
What I was getting at by my question in my reply before this one was more than just a reiteration of your note that, “This issue seems to be resolved now that the versions are back in sync.” – if possible, can you roll back to the version where things work and literally just share the URL that is generated for the event which, in the most recent version, resides at http://fbca1.thrivenetmarketing.com/event/awaken-service-2/2014-02-02/?
Thank you!
